He’s normally a bit nervous around dogs 🦴 but if friend of Noise Annoys Graham from Wagtail Walks thought that Ernie wasn’t going to accept his challenge of selecting a dog related Pick Of The Day then I’m afraid he was barking up the wrong tree. I suggested Do It Dog Style by Slaughter & The Dogs or Hounds Of Love by Kate Bush but Ernie took the lead and plumped for Think Pink by The Fabulous Poodles 🐩

Despite the cold weather and treacherous conditions I’m Out again with my favourite lab Pero and it’s amazing some of the things you come across. Our first encounter appeared to be a drunk father Xmas, either that or he’s fallen off the roof having got his dates mixed up. Then we saw a lovely old car like something you’d see on Bangers and Cash, great to see. Then off to Pentre Mawr Park via Gele Park. Bit nippy this morning and Pero came almost face to face with a half asleep squirrel trying to get a warm in the sun, he nearly lost his nuts in more ways than one I can tell you, that’ll be a story for him to tell down his local tonight 😆. The walled garden was also nice, although judging by sone of the visitors it may have to be renamed the stoned garden. We called in at ‘Noise Annoys’ record shop on Bridge St, and challenged Ernie (the resident skeleton with a better dress sense than Iwan) to pick a dog themed record of the day for tomorrow, and don’t be trying to fob us off with Bow Wow Wow either!! Any suggestions, send them in and I’ll pick the best one.

Slots available for dog walks so get in touch, don’t risk going out if you’re unsteady on your feet, let me look after your pets.

Again, Be careful out there today, it’s very slippy underfoot.

Nice lunchtime stroll with Amber around Rhuddlan yesterday. Only half an hour so Amber didn’t get too tired, she’s older than she looks so we go at whatever pace she feels like. Yesterday she was setting a good speed and decided the route herself, possibly her way of showing off her home town. We somehow ended up in the vicinity of the Castle public house (now what does that tell me about her owners?). I also never knew there was a thatched cottage in the village either. The actual castle itself looked resplendent in the midday sun and the hunger inducing aroma’s from the various eateries in the town centre was too much for us both so we headed home where the treats were administered. Amber settled down for an afternoon nap 😴 and I don’t blame her either.

This time last week Pero and I got absolutely drenched. Today I’m almost tempted to get the sun tan cream out. Lovely crisp day so off we headed to Pentre Mawr Park, Abergele. Loads of wildlife about and some lovely scenery and features of interest. Popped into ‘Noise Annoys’ record shop on the way home in the hope of seeing the proprietor Iwan who has been known to throw the odd treat Pero’s way. Unfortunately he was out looking at someone’s record collection for more stock. Hopefully they also have a decent joke book for sale as most of his are older than his records!! 😂.

Mad dogs and Englishmen go out in the midday sun. Mad dogs and welshmen go out in torrential rain ☔️in Abergele. Even so, my old mate Pero and I had a fine time today. Saw a hedge that Banksy would be proud to put his name to, congratulations to the person responsible, great job and lovely to see people taking pride in where they live. Walked past the once mighty river Gele , perhaps the hedge pruner could provide some advice to those responsible for its upkeep, it did improve the more upstream we went. Popped in to see my old mate Iwan who has just recently started his record business 'Noise Annoys' in the old butchers on Bridge Street he was kind enough to dish out the treats for Pero. If you fancy a trip down memory lane pop in and see him, he has a vast collection of the records we used to buy and is a great lad. He’s on Facebook too!

What a day!! Met up with an old friend today. Bonnie’s guaranteed to brighten up anybody’s day, her owners contacted me to conduct a welfare visit which includes a walk, feed and water and make a general fuss of her. We ventured out to the nearby bridleway only to find an emerging river. We got wet but who cares, nothing a quick towel dry and a few treats doesn’t cure so good walk all around. Poor Bella, she had a mishap this week resulting in a nail being removed so just a welfare/comfort visit today. Just enough of a walk for her to tend to her affairs and hobble back home for tea and sympathy. Not a grumble to be heard, bit of improvisation with an old sock, poo bag and hair bobble to protect the dressing and bobs your uncle, jobs s good un!!

Daisy and Bella met up today for a game of fetch. Predictably, Daisy struggled to keep up but gave it her all nonetheless. No idea where Bella gets the energy from but I’m exhausted just throwing the ball 😩. Great exercise for both followed by a cool drink and afternoon nap 😴. Spotted the Google Earth camera car on the way back too.

Nice walk in the forgotten footpaths of Rhuddlan with Amber. I got a bit disoriented but Amber used her tracking skills to get us home safe and sound. I won’t reveal a ladies age but she’s over 70 dog years and in fine shape! 👏

Getting to know my new friend Pero, a lovely natured chocolate lab. We met a pair of miniature Schnauzers named Walter and Doris along the way, good day had by all!! PS Doris and Walter are Evertonians so best of luck for them tonight against Crystal Palace!! (Not sure how Pero found that out though!)
