The daily work in the rescue continues, although at a reduced rate; we have reduced the number of dogs in the rescue as the cost of care rises along with other overheads. The campsite income is now fully paying the utilities and staff wages, and we hope to take enough for the winter bills that will need paying after the campsite closes in October, which is a worry.
Unfortunately, we have had 2 pillows and the new white electric fire go missing from the Bell tent, luckily we have spare pillows, but I now need to find an imitation log burner (Electric fire) if anyone has one for sale, please give me a call 07721627486

JUST A REMINDER, TO ALL DOG OWNERS.

⚠️🚙⚠️ Despite the warnings, hundreds of dogs in the UK die every year after being left in a hot car. Someone you know may need to read this very important message. ⚠️🚙⚠️

SIX MINUTES is all it takes for a dog to overheat in a hot car.

Your dog could suffer serious injury or die in a matter of minutes if left alone in a car.

• The temperature inside a closed vehicle left in the sun can double within 12 minutes.

• At least 75% of the temperature increase in a closed vehicle occurs within 5 minutes of closing the vehicle, and at least 89% of the temperature increase occurs within 15 minutes of closing the vehicle.

• Temperatures exceeding 104˚ F can lead to death or serious injury for the occupants.

• Temperatures in a closed vehicle sitting in the hot sun can reach 160˚F and above. An animal will suffer immeasurably and may die before the temperature reaches 150˚F.

• Even when parked in the shade, the vehicle temperatures can exceed 104˚C.

• Leaving windows down more than 2 inches on an unattended vehicle will not prevent a car from reaching extreme temperatures.

• Even if the animal is revived, they can die due to severe internal organ damage.

Your dog trusts you to have their best interest at heart ALWAYS.
Please don’t risk their safety.

If you are not taking your dog inside your destination with you, PLEASE leave them at home where they are comfortable and safe.

08.06.24 We have been abandoned, so our grandma, who couldn’t keep us, has brought us to Pet Rescue; we are 2 females, not spayed and not vaccinated, so all that will need doing at some point, but vaccines first. We are a Yorkie and a Yorkie poodle cross, ages 2 and 3 years old. The rescue can’t tell you anymore, so please don’t ask; they said they will let you know at a later date, and we will then be available for Lifetime foster, but ask later, please. If you would like to help with our vet bills, please donate. Card payments can be made on Monday, Wednesday, or Friday when reception opens. Or pop in any day between 12 until 2pm to visit and make a donation. We also have a donation link if you wish to help https://square.link/u/OSYjlCMs

Many pet owners have a wide variety of reasons for asking rescues to take in pets. Rescue including ours at PET RESCUE WELFARE Charity, we require funds to care for these pets that do fall under the heading of Abandoned (see dictionary definition). In the interest of openness and public information, we are publishing the NEW criteria for taking in pets. We will require the following information
1. The reason for handing in your pet (not to judge but to understand).
2. Is your pet fully vaccinated (a vaccine card is required).
3. Is your pet Neutered?
4. Has your pet had any aggression issues?
5. We will require permission to contact your vet for history
6. We require the Microchip papers.
7. A letter with as much of your pet's information on (likes etc).
8. An intake donation minimum of £50 to help towards some cost of care. If vaccines and or neutering are also required help towards those costs may/would be asked for.
9. Is your pet compatible with dogs/cats/children/strangers/OAPs/disabled.
10 What type of new home would suit your pet?
* Please PRIVATE MESSAGE from this page as much information as possible and INCLUDE A PHOTO so the staff can discuss the possibility of an intake. If and when your pet is accepted and you are offered a place all the information will be required and you will need to sign your pet over to Pet Rescue Welfare please note we do not relinquish pets back into the home that has signed them over. A photo of you and your pet will be taken for security reasons at the sign-over. The information you sign will be classed as a legal document
*Fees can be discussed under certain circumstances?
We have a non-destructive policy so pets can stay a prolonged length of time in certain circumstances.

08.03.24 Sadly Scruff is being returned again for the 2nd time. We may need to keep him as a long-term resident so anyone out there who would like to sponsor him or his kennel please contact Marj on 07721627486 please remember we rely on donations. He cannot live with other pets and Due to scuffs original owners not training socialising or walking him, we have no other option but to keep him in long-term residence. We do thank everyone for their comments but to safeguard him from falling into the wrong hands (dog fighters) he will be staying here we are aware of the breed instinct but sadly he is more damaged than that it’s not his fault. ***Please only comment you wish to sponsor him***
