Getting your dog groomed is not just for appearance, it's also a great way to get them checked over for health! This week we have discovered ticks, a sharp 1cm long grass seed embedded in a spaniel's armpit, and a growth that needed urgent veterinary attention. Embedded grass seeds can enter blood vessels and travel up into the heart, and this time of year they are extremely common. If your dog's coat is getting out of control it might be time for a shave so that you can see what's really going on!

Another summer glow up today! Here is Ted who came in quite matted despite mum's best efforts, but went home a lot shorter and cuter! (I mean he was super cute to start with but now you can see his lil face ❤️)

It's not always about shaving short! Ted's mum likes him fluffy so we just evened everything up, trimmed his straggly bits, and tidied up his feet, face and tail. Ted is a dachshund X poodle and is only 8 months old! He was understandably a bit nervous but we took it slow and he was a super good boy. See you in a few weeks, Tidy Ted!

Two wooly girls today, both very sweet and a bit nervous, but we got there! Quite a lot of matting on both dogs so we had to go very short but much cooler and tidier after a shave off, and easier for their mums to look after ❤️

Well this was our biggest job this week! This lovely girl came to us in dire need of a groom. Her owner was doing her best to keep up with grooming but sometimes there's just no substitute for professional equipment and time. We gave her two baths, blew out all that undercoat with the blaster, and got rid of lots of matting hidden in the depths of all that hair. Then it was brush, brush, brush, brush, and brush some more. 3 hours later, she's less itchy, moving better, and feeling like the star she is
