FIRST GLIMPSE TIME! Here is your sneaky little look at the new version of our All Weather coat with fresh detail and design tweaks for 2025. The coat itself is the most sublime olive green for classic elegance and as you can see the reflective tape is now diagonally across the hip in a bold new placement. The orange is brilliant for seeing your dog in the woods or in low light as a flash of colour, and it’s reflective too to make dogs visible in torchlight, or car headlights on a street walk. We are also offering silver reflective tape which we will show you soon, as well as the drawstring snood closure and new colour softshell. This is our new coat for winter that combines all your favourite elements from our other coats in one oh-so-beautiful piece that is a striking version of our best selling bespoke coat. NOT JUST FOR VIZSLAS! Although our fleece was originally cut for vizslas, we’re finding it fits more and more breeds beautifully too. Here’s our rep, the gorgeous Romi who’s a mix but like a tiny whippet, and we’ve discovered the new XXS fleece fits her beautifully! Her stats are: weight 11kg, back length 55cm, chest 60cm and neck 28cm and as you can see, she looks amazing and the fit is great too. NEW XXS SIZE FLEECE now available. This is Dug - he’s a 12 year old puggle and we were asked if we could make him a fleece to keep his senior joints warm and match his best friend Iggy the vizsla - so we did! Fleeces are fantastic for all dogs but our cut which is longer in the hip than most make it even better for older dogs with arthritis like Dug. For your reference to see if this is a good size for your smaller dog (whatever age or breed), Dug is 12.5kg, 49cm back, 36cm neck and 56cm chest. Both dogs are in burnt orange fleece with grey mark armhole ribbing which is the most fabulous colour to be visible yet elegant. We love it! GREY SKIES TO SUNSHINE! Last week our fabric supplier told us that the olive green waterproof fabric we use every single day would be out of stock til January. I panicked. I use it for pretty much everything! But then I thought more clearly and realised that I could make raincoats from the other waterproof fabric and offer a Design Your Own version and this absolutely beauty (wine and neon pink) is the first new combination I tried and I’m blown away by how stunning it is. And then the supplier phoned to say actually we do have some olive so that was a panic over nothing. However - is a design your own raincoat option something you’d like? You could have camo, wine, navy, green, orange and black coats with a variety of webbing options. Please comment to tell me what you think! And remember we do have olive too so that will define staying as a core range because, well, it’s gorgeous and we all love it a lot.

DO YOUR FLEECES FIT SPANIELS? The lovely asked us this and we grabbed the opportunity to find out. And as you can see the answer is yes - hooray! We are thrilled how the dogs look and the textures of their fur and the fleece together is just divine. So although originally cut for vizslas it’s great to see other breeds in our fleeces too and we look forward to seeing everyone else in their Dashwood fleeces too this winter. Ryder (liver and white, weight 14.9kg, back 62cm, neck 38cm, chest 69cm) is in the Small size and Ruby (Weight 19kg, back 68cm, neck 40cm, chest 66cm) is in the medium. Although the fluffy fleece sold out super fast (more coming at the end of the month) you can order another colour right now - olive green and burnt orange look incredible with the autumn colours) so head to our website now. IT’S OUR BIRTHDAY! 5 years ago today, Dashwood Dog opened its doors and this is the coat (and the dog) that started it all! Betsy is a vizsla and she hated the cold. Like really hated being anything other than toasty warm thank you very much. She also hated every coat I bought her because as I now realise, vizslas are a funky shape that standard coats just don’t fit. So with decades of sewing and tv costume experience I decided to make her one that fit and that she was happy in and this is it. The design has been tweaked a bit over the years but is essentially now just what it was then - a beautiful, stylish, warm and weatherproof coat that fits like a glove (if it ain’t broke and all that). And why are we called Dashwood? Because Betsy’s KC name is Follyhall Miss Dashwood and without her none of this would have happened. So happy birthday to us - and a huge huge thank you to all of you for your support. I really mean it. From the very bottom of my heart. The next milestone is 10k followers and I’m planning a lovely celebration for that so please do continue to tag and share us so we can hit that goal too.
