Hi I'm Sam, animal lover, pet sitter and qualified equine Reiki practitioner based in the New Forest area to care for your pets and homes whilst you are away.

Insured, DBS checked, Pet First Aid certificated, member of the Dog Training College. Hi, I'm Sam and I've been pet and house sitting for 7 years because I love to love animals! All creatures great and small from zany spaniels to quirky budgies. No pet in my care goes without the love, affection and playtime they need and deserve, their welfare and happiness is my top priority. I understand that l

eaving your home and furry family members with someone new may feel disconcerting so I always arrange an initial, free of charge, no obligation, meet and greet (1-1.5 hours) with you and your pets to go through their care needs, routines and to give you and them a chance to get to know me in person. You will receive daily updates and photos whilst you're away to give you reassurance that they are being well cared for. I'm always happy to arrange a video call should you wish to check in with me and your pets. I'm also a business owner working predominantly from home which enables me to be with your pets most of the day. Dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, fish, chickens, and hamsters are all household pets I've had of my own and/or experience with. I highly value reliability so I'm committed to ensuring all booked sits are carried out to your expectations.

24 hour pet sitting in your home (for up to 3 dogs) within a 12 mile radius of Ringwood, Hampshire. This includes:

� Daily walking (up to one hour depending on your dog's specific needs)
� Ensuring your dogs are able to toilet outside when needed and mess is picked up
� Feeding your dogs and other household pets as per their routine with provision of water
� Muddy paws cleaned!
� Playtime & enrichment games
� Daily photo updates of your pets on how they are doing.
� Picking up mail, Taking bins out, taking in postal deliveries and watering indoor plants
� Your home is kept as clean and tidy as you left it including sweeping/hoovering/mopping of floors
� Your home is kept safe and secure at all times
� One initial meet and greet with you and your pets prior to booking of 1-1.5 hours.
� Administering of oral medication (if required)

I drive with my own car so you have the added assurance that there will be a car on your driveway overnight. Additional reviews and references are available upon request. Full pet sitting insurance, DBS checked and pet first aid certificated. Member of The Dog Training College with additional training courses.

Pet escapes increase by around 30% during firework season.

Even if your pet has not previously been affected by fireworks, animals can develop a fear at anytime so it's best to be prepared.

The hearing of dogs and cats is much more sensitive than ours. Typically, dogs can hear sounds which are 4 times further away than we can and cats can hear sounds which are 4-5 times further away.

Other household pets such as rabbits and guinea pigs are not immune to associated stress so it's advisable to keep them indoors after sundown wherever possible.

Here's a few tips to help keep your lovely pets feel calmer this week (and probably into next week!)

CATS:
🐱 Keep them indoors if you can, ideally shortly before sundown. Whilst it's illegal to have fireworks going off after 11pm (midnight on bonfire night) it doesn't mean they won't be!

🐱 Cats feel safest when high up so keep a shelf or all the shelves clear if they have penchant for climbing them. This also saves potential breakages of your favourite items

🐱 Both cats and dogs may seek comfort in you. Extra cuddles and reassurance is encouraged but not if they're preferring to have space or hide as they need to feel in control of their environment

🐱 Invest in a Feliway plug-in and place in the room where they spend most of their time

RABBITS & GUINEA PIGS
🐰 Consider bringing them indoors if you can and only if they're used to being indoors otherwise the sudden change of environment could end up being just as stressful for them

🐰 Partially cover outside pens etc. with blankets to muffle noise and provide additional shelter but leave an area for them to look out still

🐰 Provide extra bedding for small animals to burrow in if they need to

I recently had a wonderful long sit with these two lovable chaps Mr Dexter & Mr Hugo.

They're full of personality and most fond of yoga mat theivery 😆

Despite being a bit under the weather to begin with, Mr Dexter was soon back to his playful self of undoing cushion arrangements and chasing the garden hose.

Mr Hugo loves his fusses and cuddles 💜
