This lovely little boy OBOE came to our see one of our nurses for a nail clip which he found very exciting!!

OBOE has hind dew claws which get very long if not trimmed.

These “big toes” of the doggie world can hide amongst the fur on the back legs and like to grow to unruly lengths!

Some of these toes are well attached with bone to the rest of the leg while others can simply dangle from a small skin attachment.

Does your doggo have some extra toes?!

…… no words for how ADORABLE these 10 baby rabbits are! 5 in each litter nearly a week apart.

Would anyone like to have a guess as to how many girls and how many boys there are? Bonus points for the term used to describe baby rabbits… no googling! 👀

This little lady came in for her first vaccinations recently.

… as you can see N I N A was a complete hit with our staff, especially Hayley who nearly refused to give her back!

She was exhausted at the end, it’s hard work being small!

Everyone meet OZZIE our new VET! He brings a wealth of experience and knowledge in the canine department.
Ozzie is currently studying less intrusive ways of taking dog’s temperatures and LOVES sampling any new treats that we are considering to stock.

Outside of work Ozzie likes to go for long walks with his human, getting muddy whilst playing with his brother Ted, cuddles and a good belly scratch!

This little lady was very brave for the final part of her puppy vaccinations, she was far too busy eating liver paste to even notice the tiny needle.

Mavis belongs to Holly one of our animal nursing assistants, so lucky for us we get to have lots of cuddles.

We cannot wait to watch you grow into those big paws!

🌾 As the weather finally turns warmer and the sun starts to show, it’s the perfect time to get out with our pets on adventures.

🌱 Did you know… GRASS SEEDS cause our pets a lot of bother, they can get in lots of different locations (eyes, ears, paws, fur) unfortunately once in these pesky seeds like to also try and migrate into the chest and abdomen which can make your pet seriously poorly.

🌾 It is advisable to check your pets after a walk especially ears and paws, checking between the toes and wash / pick out any grass seeds you see! Check the groin area too and armpit area as they love to get stuck in long fur!

🌱 Avoiding long grass during the seeding season is also an effective way to keep them safe.

☎️ If you think your pet may have a grass seed, please call us or your local practice for advice!

What a difference two years makes! Rufus came in to see Vet Louise for a check up of his swollen paw. Rufus was a little worried about having his paw looked at but was soon distracted by the yummy liver paste!

Animal PoisonLine is run by the Veterinary Poisons Information Service (VPIS) and is the only 24-hour specialised emergency telephone service in the UK dedicated to helping pet owners who are worried their pet may have been exposed to something harmful or poisonous.

Used for a NON URGENT case where your pet is not experiencing any symptoms or if it’s a known poison which will definitely require treatment eg convulsions, breathing difficulties, cats eating true lilies, adder bites - then you need to CALL your vet / emergency out of hours straight away.

It is VERY helpful the poison team know exactly what your pet has been exposed to so please keep all packaging and amounts.

We are SO proud (and also think she’s a little C R A Z Y) of our lovely receptionist Elisa who is walking 300 kilometres across four ultra challenges in 2024! Elisa whilst juggling working, being a mum, wife, looking after her dogs, completing her Animal Nursing Assistant certificate and MORE!! Behind the scenes she is working so hard and we are all certain she will do amazingly!

She said: "They don't charge people for these dogs or for training them and solely rely on people like me who do stupid things.

"They're a lovely charity and I can't speak highly enough of them."

A Ringwood woman has taken on the challenge to walk 300 kilometres for charity Autism for Dogs.
