🐻 Big cuddly Koda can been seen here practicing one of the exercises during his physiotherapy session.

Today was his first session and we worked on loosening off some tightness in his glutes, followed by carrying out an exercise plan that his owner can continue with at home to help strengthen his hindlimbs.

We think he thoroughly enjoyed learning some ‘new tricks’!

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a hydrotherapist to join our professional, friendly and supportive team based in Ringwood, Hampshire.

Our facilitates include a Hydrotherapy Pool, HydroPhysio Aquatic Treadmill, Physio treatment room and K-Laser.

This role is for 30 hours per week including some Saturdays however part time would also be considered.

Pension contributions, professional membership (NARCH), First Aid Training costs and CPD allowance all covered by the company.

The ideal candidate will already hold either the Level 3 or 4 Hydrotherapy qualification. However Veterinary Physiotherapists with interest in Hydrotherapy shall also be considered for the role.

The role involves working closely in very dedicated team of Hydrotherapists and Veterinary Physiotherapist to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.

Experience and confidence in handling a variety of breeds, with a cheerful attitude, dedicated and honest, must be a good team player as well as being able to work independently.

Strong communication skills with a very high level of attention to detail and a ‘can-do’ attitude is essential.

Salary is based on experience.

The lovely Millie from Paws & Progress came in for her second swim today. She’s coming for a bit of fitness and a fun way to exercise. She’s been doing well swimming round following treats!

She isn’t quite tall enough to stand comfortably on the resting shelf, so we have to have cuddles during her rests, which we don’t think Millie or Liz mind at all 🩷

Barney has been coming to see us since March, shortly after his new pawrents adopted him from Romania, where he had surgery to remove his hip joint before he came over to the UK. He’s really landed on his feet in his new family and they are making sure that he is strong and fit following his surgery.

He started in the treadmill and then moved into the pool, but is now going to alternate between the 2 to make sure he’s using his legs and getting the maximum benefit from his treatment. He’s been retrieving the doughnut toy in the pool, but unfortunately it’s rubber and not actually an edible doughnut, so he was please to remember there was cheese on offer when he’s in the treadmill!

He couldn’t resist having a go at Tongues Out Tuesday, which may have had something to do with licking the cheese!

Paco has just started his rehabilitation journey with us to help manage his hip dysplasia.

He’s the most laid back little chap and loves his visits due to all the attention he gets!

We started off with some Physiotherapy for him and now he has K-Laser treatment combined with the aquatic treadmill to help strengthen his hindlimbs.

Last week we had a V.I.P visitor! Hannah who’s currently off on maternity leave popped in with baby Sebastian to meet us all 💙

After lots of cuddles he enjoyed checking out the dogs on our wall of fame!

Happy Poppy has started treatment recently and is doing very well! We just love seeing her happy face and couldn’t resist taking her photo.

She can be fairly vocal in the treadmill, but as soon as we start giving her a fuss, she’s silent. She’s now worked out that she can convince us to give her constant strokes the whole time she’s here!

We thought she’d be a fun one to play ‘guess my breed’ - so pop your guesses in the comments below!

Murphy is 15 years young and still enjoys his swims to keep him mobile and to maintain the strength in his back legs. He has been swimming with us for over a year now and we enjoy seeing him sniff his way into the centre.

He enjoys chasing his tennis ball round the pool and then holds onto it for the duration of every rest and isn’t very keen on the fact that he has to put it down to have another go 🎾

He then manages to sneak the ball out to reception afterwards and is annoyed that we realise and ask for it back again!

Today we said ‘see you soon’ to the Gorgeous Willow who is having surgery next week to repair a ruptured cruciate ligament!

Willow has been visiting us for pre-hab treatment to help strengthen her hindlimbs and get her used to hydrotherapy before undergoing surgery next week.

We look forward to helping you with your recovery Willow, there will be a tube of primula cheese here waiting for you. 🧀

& we’re sure you’ll be running around with all your friends in the park again before you know it 🐾

This distinguished gentleman is Ollie 💙

Ollie is 15 and a half years young and originally started coming to see us for fun and fitness swims with his younger brother Charlie. For the last 6 months he has been having his treatment in the treadmill, because he wasn’t enjoying the pool as much due to a large growth under his chin which he didn’t like getting wet.

He took to the aquatic treadmill straight away when he realised there were treats on offer! His sessions are now helping him stay strong and mobile - well done Ollie!

Did you know we offer group swims?!

Group swims are 2 dogs from the same household in the pool with 2 hydrotherapists, like Rolly and Ben. Rolly has been coming for treatment with us and reached a level in the pool where he was ready to have his brother, Ben join him. Ben was unsure to start with, but pleased to have Rolly to show him the ropes.

With the warmer weather starting, the pool offers a refreshing dip and is a good way to exercise when it’s too hot to walk in the day time - plus it’s great fun! Please contact us if you’d like to book your dogs in or would like more information 🐾

One of our regular visitors Digger has a new friend at home who he brought to meet us today! 🐾

Dottie is 13 weeks old and shall be joining her big brother in the pool soon to help keep her strong and supple to hopefully avoid any spinal problems in the future, which we have managed to successfully do with her big brother for the past 5 years!

She found all the attention and cuddles very tiring and decided to take a nap on the floor whilst appointments were being made! 😴

We had some exciting news at the beginning of this month. Hannah, Ben, Dizzy and Skipper welcomed Sebastian to the world on 5th of May, weighing 7lbs 15oz 🩵

He has been settling into his family very well and they are enjoying life with their new little addition! We can’t wait for his first visit to the centre 👣
