Another day with the best company.
Privileged to have the support of a great team on shoot days. Not just with fabulous dogs who work hard to make sure the job is done but also fun and entertaining people who make even the wet and miserable weather days sunny ones! 😁

Not much beats a handsome cocker. ☺️ Settled in for a spell of Residental training. 🐾

Heathcroft Stan, ran in the Tyne Tees and Tweed 16 dog Novice ESS Field Trial.
At 13 months old this was his first trial, and I was happy that he completed both runs, and didn’t do anything wrong.
Unfortunately luck wasn’t on our side, and we had two blank runs. There was very little scent and game was playing hard to get, which made it a tricky trial.
Congratulations to all those in the awards, and looking forward to Stan getting more experience over this season. 🐾

A busy couple of days, a run with Littlegill Harry in the 2 day Open Trial at Emblehope, followed by a day on the moor with spaniels and Labradors. Dogs take you to some fabulous places and you meet so many great people, whilst driving up and down the motorway throwing £50 notes out of the window. 😩🫠

Mable and her owner enjoying their first day in the field and benefitting from the hours of training to get to this point.

Mable was actually rehomed back in March this year. She was previously purchased as a pet, but without appropriate training and not knowing what the job description of a pet entailed, she quickly became a young cocker who pulled like a train, and had absolutely no recall.
She was actively looking to chase anything that moved and the result was she could be gone for hours, and subsequently couldn’t be off lead.

Once she arrived with her now owners in March, they combined 1-1 training and a spell of Residental training for Mable, but most importantly put the time and effort in doing their homework.

A fantastic effort on their behalf, and so lovely to see this resulting in being able to enjoy their dog. 🐾🐾

Been a lovely few days out with the dogs.
Very pleased with the youngsters, Gunnerspeg Indiana and Heathcroft Stan.

Gunnerspeg Indiana is growing in confidence and being on game has shown an extra few gears.
At 12 months old Heathcroft Stan is proving to be a genuinely honest dog to train and taking to new experiences like a duck to water. Fortunately there was less water today than yesterday 😬☔️!

Rufus looking happy to be here after his six hour journey north. A return journey for the next stage of his training. 🐾
