🩵🐈 OUR SENIOR KITIZEN CHARLIE IS STILL LOOKING FOR A HOME. SHE HAS WAITED ALL OVER CHRISTMAS AND NEARLY ALL JANUARY TOO - COULD FEBRUARY BE THE TIME WHEN HER DREAMS COME TRUE 🐈🩵

Charlie is a sweet lady who is on the lookout for a new home after she was found as a stray. She is 10 years old. She has waited all Christmas for a new family to come forward but not had any luck. Could you change her luck in 2025?

It is tough out there for cats who have no safe shelter to access, no food to fill their tummies and no family to love, and so Charlie was lucky that she came across kind people who helped her and brought her to us here where she would be safe and warm.

She has settled incredibly well with us here and is very happy to be in comfortable surroundings with people taking care of her. Whilst she is friendly, she is also independent too so she is the purrfect cat for someone who wants companionship but also may be out at work during the day too.

Charlie is 10 years old and so still has many adventures ahead of her to experience with a new family. Her age also goes in her favour, as older cats have an established personality and so their adopters have a good idea of the type of cat they are adopting. Older cats can also settle a lot quicker as they have more life experience and have been fully socialised previously. They are therefore a brilliant addition to many different types of home.

💚🐈 STILL WAITING TO FIND A NEW FAMILY TREE TO JOIN - 3 YEAR OLD PENELOPE 🐈💚

Penelope is a gentle soul that really does have a heart full of love. She is currently looking for the right person to share it all with. Could that person be you?

Here in the cattery, Penelope spends her days curled up in her favourite spot by her pen window watching the world go by. This is her favourite thing to do, however she does it whilst also dreaming about the possibility of a new home and we are hoping she doesn't have to wait too long to find just that.

Penelope really does have a lot to offer to a new family. She is quiet, but curious and friendly yet independent. All of the purrfect qualities of a feline friend. She does wish to be the only pet however could live with older children due to her wonderful nature. As part of this wonderful nature, Penelope also has a playful, energetic side too and loves chasing a string toy or partaking in some zoomies. Many would say she is the purrfect playmate!

Penelope knows that the cattery is filled with cats that each have their own quirks and personality, however she also knows in her heart that she is meant for something special. She may not purr the loudest or have the softest fur, but she does have a quiet kind of magic that will shine through in the right home.

If there is space on the couch next to you in the evening, or you are missing that enquisitive soul that greets you at the door when you arrive home at night.....then Penelope is the girl for you.

🌚🌎🌙 STILL WAITING FOR FUREVER HOME- NEPTUNE, MARS & VENUS 🌙🌎🌚

Is there room on your planet for a bunny or two? If so, please soar in our direction and consider, Neptune, Mars and Venus as they are in desperate need of finding their happily ever after and we are hoping that they don't have to wait too long to find it.

They were originally adopted from us when they were babies however their owner sadly had to relinquish them recently due to a change in circumstances and needing to work away more.

Venus (harlequin colouring) is able to be adopted singly as he isn't as closely bonded as Neptune (brown) and Mars (black) are. He would however need to go to a home that already has an existing rabbit for him to bond and become besties with.

There are also other options too as they can be adopted as a trio or a prospective adopter can adopt Mars and Neptune as a pair too. There are lots of options with these boys so that we can ensure that they can find a suitable forever home as soon as possible.

All of these boys can be a little nervous when they first meet you, however when they get the chance to build a bond with their new family, we are hopeful that their confidence will grow. They are all very handsome boys so don't miss out!

They will be sure to become the centre of your world once you take them home and rabbits can be great pets when kept correctly.

🩷💛 REHOMING UPDATE - BETTY AND DORA 🩷💛

A few years ago, a wonderful adopter came to our previous site and asked us about any cats we had up for adoption that were struggling to find a home. The adopter was looking to expand her fur-family and wanted to give a chance to a cat that was being overlooked.

At the time we had 2 females called Betty and Dora who were in separate pens but were both struggling with cattery life. They were timid, frightened and as a result, sometimes a little grumpy (but aren't we all at times - eh?).

The adopter spent some time with both of the girls and made the most wonderful decision to adopt them both. We were absolutely over the moon.

Fast forward to today and as you can see Betty and Dora are like completely different cats to what they were like when in rescue. They have also developed the most wonderful bond which has no doubt been formed from having similar life experiences.

These photos are another wonderful reminder for adopters to consider the nervous, the grumpy and the timid cats who are looking for their forever home. You may just find your forever best friend with a little time and patience 🐈😍❤

💛🍤🍣 MEET 3 YEAR OLD SUSHI 🍣🍤💛

Sushi is a handsome boy who is on the lookout for a new family that will "wrap" him up in love. This family shouldn't be too hard for him to find as he really is a "sushi-roll" of sunshine that will bring the upmost joy into the lives of any potential adopter. Like most sushi chefs however, he knows that purrfection takes time so he is more than happy to wait patiently for his new family to make an appearance. We have told him though that we will check the emails daily to see if any enquiries have come through. Maybe you could be the first?

Sushi is everything you could wish for in a feline friend and more and there is certainly nothing fishy with that statement! He is confident, friendly and sweet natured. You could say that he has all of the right ingredients to form a feline best friend.

If Sushi could be the main dish in your life, then now is the time to "soy" something! He wants to "maki" his way into your life pronto and once you meet him, we are sure you won't be able to resist his charms.

We think sushi could live in a home with children due to his wonderful nature, however he would like to be the only pet in the home. He wants to "tuna" in to all of the love and affection and have it all for himself! And who can blame him!

After over 365 days in care, we are so so pleased to let you all know that Gus left for his forever home this afternoon! 💙🐰

He is on his way to a new home up North and has a furry friend to bond with over the next few weeks.

Enjoy your forever home Gus 💛. We know you have had to wait a long time for pastures new however your new family will no doubt fall in love with you just as quickly as we did! ###

Our charity shops provide a very much needed stream of income to support the work that we do here at the centre however they have had a tough start to the year following the break in at the Heywood shop.

❄️❄️❄️ Unfortunately, due to the snow, the animal centre and the cafe will not be open to the public today.

We have minimal staff on site to ensure our animals are safe, clean, fed and all tucked up warm.

Sadly our Heywood Shop was broken into last night. If you have any information on who may have done this, please pass it on to the police 💔

Our shop in Heywood was broken into overnight 😭
& the thieves got away with our till float and money from our collection pot (our daily takings are banked at the end of every night), they trashed the office & rummaged around through drawers.
So whilst we haven't lost a lot of cash it has caused upset to the shop staff and there is the damage & mess to sort out.
We are covered by insurance but will have to pay the excess- times are hard for all of us BUT this makes things that little bit harder for us.
If anyone has any info as to who may have done this please let the police know before another struggling charity or small business is targeted.
If you have dash cam footage (from around 11.30pm last night) or any of our neighbours have CCTV- please let us know 🙏
