Pony Fundraiser We would like to thank everyone for their support last weekend at our pony fundraising event. Although the weather was not on our side we raised enough for a second opinion on JoJo,s condition. Fernando from Galley Hill equine came and carried out another examination and found that his retained testicle was in the inguinal canal and not in the abdomen as feared. He was castrated on Wednesday and is recovering well. Soon to be playing in the field with Candy.

🌼☀️ With the hot weather set to continue tomorrow remember to look out for your furry friends who can’t cool down as easily 🌼☀️ Here are some top tips to keep your pets cool in the hot weather; ☀️ Provide Shade and water 💦 🏖 ☀️ Keep cool - use a paddling pool and keep their coats brushed to keep it thin 🐕🐈. ☀️ Most importantly please don’t leave your pets in cars/ caravans or locked conservatories where temperature can rise quickly ☀️ If you spot the signs of heat stroke contact a vet immediately! This includes heavy panting, excessive drooling, drowsiness, confusion and/ or vomiting⚠️ Please share #wellgatefarm #hotweather☀️

Spring has sprung here at Wellgate with some new arrivals over the Easter Weekend with both our Golden Guernsey goats giving birth to twin kids. Do you have a few hours a week to spare? Want to feel part of a team and volunteer in a rewarding role? Wellgate Farm is looking for shop volunteers. The role will include selling farm produce, souvenirs and making tea/coffees and engaging with other volunteers and and visitors. We are seeking shop volunteers at the weekends between 10am - 2pm.
