Cooked Bones Can Shatter and Cause Damage. Cooked bones splinter into shards. So if your dog eats one, they might choke on the tiny pieces. These pieces can cause serious damage to the dog's mouth, throat, or intestines. Cooking also removes nutrients from the bone.

Avoid feeding certain nuts to your dogs. Nuts such as macadamia & Walnuts are high in fats that can upset your dog’s stomach and cause diarrhea or vomiting. In more serious cases, consuming walnuts can lead to the development of more serious conditions like gastroenteritis or pancreatitis. Not to mention, walnuts present a potential choking hazard and might cause intestinal blockage.

Christmas is a time to spend with family and friends, so naturally, we want to include our animal companions in the festivities. But it’s important to avoid sharing certain foods with dogs. Never give your dog blue cheese. The fungus involved in making blue cheeses such as Stilton can produce a substance called roquefortine C, which dogs can be very sensitive to. If your dog ingests this, they may develop the following symptoms:

Vomiting.
Diarrhoea.
High temperature.
Seizures.
