First full weekends coaching in several months due to circumstances and illness but it was sooooo great to be back!
Yesterday was full of freelancing, today a pony club rally and six hours of mechanical horse sessions.
As I build up my freelancing starting in December, please message me if you are interested in private sessions, groups, clinics or mechanical horse sessions.
So, generally, I’m a very placid person when it comes to off lead dogs when I’m riding as I know my darling Ear’s is pretty ok with dogs.
However, we had an awful experience a couple of weeks ago. Older ‘gentleman’ walking his dog off lead. Dog instantly approached Ears, barking and napping at her legs. Ears obviously didn’t like this. I also had Tom (my 5 year old!) on another pony being led. Both ponies were beginning to get distressed so 6 times I called to the owner ‘please can you put your dog on a lead, it’s upsetting my pony’. SIX times and he just ignored us.
I managed to shoo the dog back and the man ambled up to us without an apology, to which I admit I lost my rag but wasn’t out of line. He took FOREVER to put said dog on lead by which point I’m a physical blockade between dog and horses. I told him several times I have children on horseback here and still he ignored me. So I told him clear as day. “If your dog doesn’t have recall, it should be on a lead. You are endangering other animals and children with your actions and lack of training. Train your dog to recall or keep it on lead” I was angry but managed to not call him all the names under the sun I wanted to!
The only time I got a response from this man was when I was practically hanging over him, holding his dog back and he says ‘got that off your chest now have you?’
I was livid and if my children hadn’t been there and I wasn’t more preoccupied by the safety of them and the horses I probably would have ripped him a new one. I’ll happily admit that.
We all have the right to share the same spaces safely! This particular older ‘gentleman’ refused to see wrong in his actions and put our safety at risk. That is not ok! Dogs should be trained to be off lead or kept on lead, simple as! His behaviour was entitled and rude. So please share and sign the below petition so that horse riders can be safe in shared environments!

It’s half term! Which means super apprentice Melia is back helping out! Thankfully, her mum doesn’t mind me delivering her home in this state! 🤣 She has worked her butt off yet again and is so good with all the animals! Thanks Melia Moo!!! 🥰🥰

This beautiful boy has gone to his new home today! 💙 He has taken the move amazingly and his new owner will no doubt be the love of his life. I’m sad he’s gone, but he’s going to be so loved and do so well, that I’m proud to have been just a small part of his story. Be a good boy Arthur George! I can’t wait for the updates. 💙⭐️

I’ve said it once, I’ve said it a million times. I’m so proud of this boy. Rising 2, walks poles, wears a rug, will take a numnah, will walk and trot in hand. Will work for love….. absolutely nothing strenuous has been put on him due to his growing body. However, everything asked of him he takes in his stride and trust in his people. He’s incredible and will be amazing once able to back. 💙👌🏻😍
A week ago, this was unthinkable for Arthur. He wants to trust and love unconditionally. He’s definitely one of those special ones who will be the fairy tale pony. Thank you my boy for letting me help you to learn to trust people & the big scary world. 💙
