12th August, special event.
Many of you are aware we are getting soft equipment next month, Wall, Long jump and breakaway tyre, all Gallican.
Gallican is becoming the most popular equipment to be used at shows.
12th August League event will be using this equipment for the first time in our Agility course. An ideal opportunity to experience this equipment away from the pressure of a big show.
If interested, you can either fill in the entry form in FILES or email [email protected] for more information.
If you fancy trying out the equipment before the event then I will be holding a session on Wednesday 9th August, for a maximum of ten people to have ago at running a course with the equipment set up. This will be prioritised for existing clients and league members (£5 each) before any remaining places being opened up to everyone (£8). The session will be from 1745-1845. There will be no formal instruction but I will assist anyone who needs help with the equipment or has any questions.
If interested, please comment below (place will be secured upon receipt of full payment).

Solent Agility are pleased to be offer the following: for this month:
Thursday Training – This will be in the indoor arena until the beginning of March and will commence with effect from Thursday 12thJanuary. Unfortunately, costs will be slightly higher than normal to cover the cost of the indoor arena hire and the increased cost of electricity. Classes will be for a maximum of 5 handlers and will cost £13.50, payable in advance in blocks of 4 weeks (£54 per block). The aim is to cover all abilities up to competition level thus:
1730-1830: New Beginners
1840-1940 : Beginners (Should have a basic level of knowledge but not necessarily competent on all equipment, especially weaves and seesaw).
1950-2050 : Advanced Beginners (Some experience on all equipment and basic handling, must be able to complete weaves and seesaw (full height with or without assistance).
Sunday Training (15th January): This will be a one-off day of training open to all levels. Exact timings of classes will be determined once numbers and levels are known. Training will be outside in our field using our high-quality competition-standard equipment and will cover morning and afternoon requirements. Each session will be limited to 5 handlers per class and each class will be 1 hour in duration. The cost will be £12, payable in advance.
For both of the above, please email [email protected] to register interest/book a space. In the case of Sunday 15th, please state your level of ability and whether you would prefer am or pm.
Saturday 21st (100-1200) – Beginners Session. This is a one-off session aimed at working on developing your basic skills, understanding cues, body positioning and developing techniques. There are a couple of places still available so please email to book. Cost is £17.50 for the 2 hours and is limited to a maximum of 6 handlers.
Saturday 28th – The 2023 League commences. It’s Jumping and Steeplechase this month. Beginners will be in the Morning (0930-1200) and Grades 1-2, and 3-4, will be in the afternoon (1230-1500). Times are approximate but we will do our best to keep within the stated time period. Rules, details and entry form are included in FILES or available in paper format form the Let’s Go Manor office.
NB. The list in the rules of events has an error in that the first event is Jumping/Steeplechase. It is done this way as a gentle introduction to the year and finishes on an agility/steeplechase event as the final event. The April Agility/Steeplechase is also a special award event. The correct list of events is thus:
January , March, May, July, September, November= Jumping/Steeplechase
February, April, June, August, October, December = Agility/ Steeplechase.
Sorry for any confusion.

Thank you so much for all the support with our first league.
The final standings will be announced shortly but I just wanted to thank each and every one of you that have taken part.
The progress you have all made is excellent. So many almosts and more clear rounds with each event.
Next year will be even better, with more trophies and awards and hopefully introduction of games. Also we will be making some presentations at the end of each quarter.
I'm just fine tuning the rules etc and will post the details in due course.
Also thanks to Wendy for the sandwiches today.

Kaspa achieved 6 first places and a 2nd.
We came third in the 400 Masters and 2nd in the Team Qualifier.
Snow had a couple of wins and came 8th in the Dogeria performance challenge qualifier despite an E in the agility round (long story).

Little Lila did a few NFC runs and had a whale of a time.

Let me know what youv'e all been upto over the last few weeks.

Good Morning,
Here is a list of the proposed training sessions starting this Wednesday and moving forward.

Wednesday 6th July and every Wednesday there after –

1730-1830 – Beginners Class (aimed at those who are not yet fully competent on the contact equipment. Must be able to use the A Frame and Dog walk on normal height but are still mastering the skills of reliable contacts, not yet competent on the Seesaw and are not yet weaving). Charged at £10 per dog payable in advance in blocks of 5 weeks. (Max 5 dogs per class)

1845-1945 – Advanced Beginners (aimed at those that can use the seesaw at full height, as well as other equipment and are almost weaving but still require the channel weaves, also for those that can weave). Charged at £10 per dog payable in advance in blocks of 5 weeks. (Max 5 dogs per class)

2000-2030 – 1 to 1 session available, charged at £15 (either as a one off or if wanted as a regular weekly session then will require 4 weeks advance payment to secure but will attract a reduced price of £55 pro rata).

Friday 8th July and every Friday there after –

1900 – 1930 1-1 session available (either as a one off or if wanted as a regular weekly session then will require 4 weeks advance payment to secure but will attract a 10% discount).

1945-2100 – Club Level training. This is aimed at those that are either competing or are at a standard ready to compete. Each week will be course-based training, varying between Steeplechase, Jumping and Agility. All courses will be actual courses that have been set in either UKA or KC competitions and will accommodate all levels throughout the evening as required by those attending. (Max 6 dogs).

Saturday 6th August – This will hopefully be the first of 6 league events that will run until December. Further details and entry costs etc will be promulgated in due course. Subject to a minimum of 10 dogs entered.

Looking ahead – Puppy Foundation agility classes aimed at puppies over 10 months that have completed basic obedience/socialising/behavioural training and have a reliable recall and wait. Dates and details to follow. A Games workshop to introduce typical Games encountered in UKA competitions with opportunities to run actual courses.
