I'm the MD & walkies leader of Paw Prints Pet Care, established in 2018, and based in the lovely market town of Rom

sey in Hampshire. My main job is keeping my Mummy under control and working hard.........but seriously, you are in very safe paws with my Mummy who is a qualified Veterinary Nurse with 35+ years of experience. Paw Prints HQ has been awarded 5 stars as a doggie home from home boarding establishment from Test Valley Borough Council, and you can find us listed on their online licensed home boarders register. So if you are a doggie and want to come for a sleepover, or a run around in the glorious landscape around Romsey on one of our group walkies, get your people to call my people and we'll look forward to spending lots of fun times with you. Not forgetting our feline and small furry furiends, Mummy can pop in to visit you and attend to your every need, but for some reason she won't let me come to help...?!

Which bowl is best? 🥣 Plastic might not be fantastic, and metal might not be marvellous. In general, glass or ceramic bowls are better for cats. 🐈

Plastic bowls can scratch easily, and these scratches can harbour bacteria and odours. Stainless steel is hygienic and easy to clean but, if your cat wears a collar, the clink of a disc or bell against the metal can be unpleasant for them. Metal bowls could also have a cooling effect on food, which is not ideal as their natural diet would be warm, so cats would prefer their meals served at room temperature.

Size and shape matter too! A wide and shallow bowl is best to help prevent the cat’s sensitive whiskers touching the sides and allow them to monitor their surroundings when eating.

🐱 Each cat is in an individual with their own preferences, so some cats will happily eat and drink from metal or plastic bowls.

What bowl does your cat like to use?

We’re pleased to welcome the new Pet Abduction Act, coming into force from today, 24 August, which introduces tougher penalties for stealing dogs- up to five years in prison, a fine, or both.

This law is a crucial step in recognising the emotional value of dogs and the devastation caused to victims of pet theft.
