With the yard almost full and quite a few more on the way 😅🤩we are looking for more help and someone to join our awesome team!
We are looking for someone who can help mornings and/or some afternoons a week, with possibility for more on show days. Must be reliable and used to being around and handling young and fit competition horses.
Usual yard duties-mucking out, poo picking etc, no riding. Super friendly and a (little bit mad) of a yard with the most amazing horses
We are Based in Romsey.

Part loan with view to buy - 15.2 5yo Connemara partbred mare.

I know part loan with view to buy might sound a little unusual but bear with me here… This super mare is coming back into work after taking some time out to grow and mature, she bred a lovely foal in this time too. She is not ready to offer for ⛵️ yet as needs another couple of months to work on fitness, get practiced with her schooling and get out and about to clinics and start thinking about some competitions.
I’m a bit short on time myself and I know how difficult looking for a horse to buy can be and what a huge decision it is to chose the right one. So I thought this could be potentially be a win win situation for me, and prospective new buyer wanting to take time and get to know a horse before to make sure it’s right for them. Especially as it’s the summer holidays now and this mare will be a super teenagers competition horse/all rounder/mother daughter share.

She is kept at Cross Oaks Livery in Wellow near Romsey, please note this mare IS NOT available to move yards before being purchased. A weekly contribution is required for part loaning, this will be minused off purchase price if prospective new owner decides it’s the right horse for them.

So grateful for our Astro turf surfaced feed areas for the outdoor horses in this weather. This is our group of youngsters, it’s wonderful they aren’t knee deep in mud. There is one youngster space available for full grass livery with own stable to use as you wish.

Indoor school with lights and jumps

All year turnout, decent size fields.
Astro turf pens
Concrete floodlit yard
Tea room, tack room, storage and WC.
Hacking distance to New Forest.

Assisted Diy is £225 a month, including either a turnout or bring in with feed and rug change.

We are probably one the friendliest, most welcoming yards there is. We have a wonderful bunch of people that will always offer to help out. There’s is always someone to hack with, we enjoy group rides to the forest, and beach, yard BBQ, clinics and much more.
Own instructors are welcome, also welcome are well behaved children and dogs on leads.

Entries are still low and we are at risk of having to cancel unless we get a few more.

Open to non members too but due to the evenings starting to draw in, priority will be given to members to compete (if by some miracle we get an huge influx of entries!)

Track Livery - this is something we are looking into for our yard in wellow near romsey. I'd love to hear people experiences of track livery, the good and the bad? What to include and what to avoid? How much do people expect to pay and what would they like included?

Broodmare and Specialist Youngstock Livery

Grass livery available for broodmares and retired mares, living naturally in a herd with natural shelter on good level flat land with lots of grass. Checked daily and hay put out in winter if needed. Worming programme and farrier can be arranged. Not suitable for ridden horses, no facilities included.
£150 per month

I have 2 options available for youngsters to complement the way their owners would like to raise them. Neither is right or wrong, we all have our own preferences and Horses can change between the two packages as they get older and what works for the their owner:

At our main yard in East Wellow with facilities including indoor arena, spare stable, solarium, tea room. This is suited to the hands-on owner that wants to see their youngster regularly and do lots of handling and training from an early age. You will be in good company with our other youngsters receiving lots of attention and handling. Our other younsgter owners often get together for loading practice, in hand hacking and general bomb proofing exercises. We hold on site clinics with youngsters in mind: horse agility is always very popular! Our youngsters full grass livery includes daily checking, hay and basic hard feed with use of facilities for £250 a month. If owners would like their own sole use stable with bedding this is an additional £100 per month.

For owners preffering the hands-off approach to youngster rearing we offer youngster grass keep in a herd for them to be turned away to mature, no facilities but daily checking. Happy to send video updates for owners further away or unable to visit as often as they would like.

Broodmare and retirement livery available, to join my small herd of easy going broodmares.

One of our lovely liveries getting stuck in with the mucky jobs and clearing the old trodden in hay from around the feeders of the field horses. This machine is certainly an upgrade from a standard Wheelbarrow!
