I’ve officially started my walking journey with The Woof Hub, I’m beyond excited! To all my existing clients don’t worry you are all coming with me!

Just to advise all of my lovely clients my prices have now changed to fall in line with The Woof Hubs.

It’s now £15 for an hours walk
And £8 for 30 mins

These price changes are only affective from next month!

Again all basic training is now included in my walks so my clients who previously chose my walking service will now get the added benefit of basic training included in all walks 🧡

🎉🧡 EXCITING NEWS🧡🎉

I have had an amazing opportunity to team up with The Woof Hub in Worksop!

This means I now have a lot more doggies to walk which is fantastic news and I’m super excited about this opportunity! 🧡

However it does mean that my prices have to fall in line with what The Woof Hub charge so that it’s fair to everyone.

It is for this reason that my prices have increased slightly. Now all my lovely regulars you guys will still be paying the old rate for the rest of this month as I feel it’s only fair!

But for any new customers these will be the prices going forward.

What’s more basic training is included on all walks now so for my walk and train clients don’t worry you’ll still get exactly the same level of service! and for those who are just purely walking clients, you now have the benefit of training included too! 🧡

If anyone has any questions about the new pricing or anything else then please pop me a message!

Thank you to everyone for your continuous support

🧡𝗦 𝗢 𝗖 𝗜 𝗔 𝗟 𝗜 𝗦 𝗔 𝗧 𝗜 𝗢 𝗡 🧡

Let’s talk about socialisation.

Allowing your dog to play and have interactions with every available dog, contrary to popular belief isn’t actually good socialisation.

Proper socialisation is exposing your dog to a vast multitude of real life scenarios such as, vets, kids, different noises, cars, parks, busy places, livestock, seeing other dogs in neutral and not neutral territory, etc…

Being a dog walker I often see either in real life or on social media, large amounts of off lead dogs being allowed to have a massive free for all, wether that be at in a group training class, a walk or doggy day care, and to be honest it stresses me out seeing it, because for dogs it’s an unnatural scenario and for most dogs it can cause over stimulation and make them feel uncomfortable or nervous, making it a totally negative experience for the dog.

I’m always being told I’m ‘too strict’ as when I’m out with clients or with my own boys wether their on or off lead I don’t allow them to ‘say hello’ to random dogs, as I want their focus to be on me and them have an enriching walk which will encourage them to make better rescissions for themselves.

Now this may sound extreme but the harsh reality is you’re creating more problems by allowing your dog to be forced into socialising, especially if they are on lead as meeting face to face is actually unnatural for dogs and can cause tension and lead reactivity if allowed to greet this way constantly.

So important things to remember to create a well socialised dog:

🧡 Your dog doesn’t need to meet or interact with other dogs on walks or be allowed to play with other dogs all the time.
🧡 You should be your dogs main focus, and your main priority should be to gain their engagement from a young age along side the proper socialisation skills.
🧡 Allowing your dog to meet every dog they see WILL create behavioural issues in the future no matter your dogs natural temperament.
🧡 Always put your dogs needs first, don’t force them to socialise.

So let’s talk about muzzles, and why they are so important. The current stereotype for muzzles is all wrong and a lot of...

So let’s talk about muzzles, and why they are so important.

The current stereotype for muzzles is all wrong and a lot of people have negative associations with them for example they are only used on aggressive, out of control dogs. Whilst this in part true 9/10 dogs actually wear muzzles for the following reasons:

🧡 The dog scavenges and eats things they shouldn’t.
🧡 The dog has a mouthy boisterous style of play with other dogs.
🧡 They are nervous about their environment.
🧡 They are reactive either fear or frustration based.
🧡 It makes their owner feel safer during off lead adventures.

FACT - Muzzles are a fantastic tool that promotes healthy bite inhibition in dogs.

Muzzles training is also important for any vet visits as your dog may need. If they require life saving treatment it will be less stressful for the dog if they are used to the idea of wearing a muzzle, instead of having one shoved on them when their already in a state of stress.

So why not ask me about muzzle training today!

This would definitely be me 😂😂

🧡NEW CLIENT ALERT🧡

Everyone welcome the gorgeous Baymax to the RCK9 family. He started today and I’ll be seeing this gorgeous face twice a week for half hour walks!

This lovely lad is a touch nervous of new people, but he is VERY food motivated, so with a lot of time and patience we were able to have some lovely cuddles and a play on the garden! Hopefully on Thursday we’ll make it on a walk!🧡

How stunning is our lovely Meg, she definitely enjoyed her afternoon stroll listening to all the birds! 🧡

My boys Arthur and Milo practicing thresholds!

Threshold training is an absolute must for your dogs.

Not only does this prevent them jumping up at you and running out the door ahead of you. It is also a life saving skill, that prevents dogs running out into the road.

Others benefits to threshold training is that it creates calm. If your dog gets super excited when your take them out for their walks, doing 10 minutes of threshold training before you set off is a game changer.

Not only will they be calmer when heading out but threshold training also helps to reduce pulling and reactivity to things.

If you’d like a training video on thresholds please comment down below! 🧡
