The Charlie and Ebony/satan due
I dont post much about my riders and horses but i would just like to give Charlie Rewston the credit she deserves.
I have been charlies instructor for a number of years.
Couple of years down the line she had outgrown him so charlie and her parents decided to buy a welsh mare. This mare seemed perfect on their viewings however they have come to problem after problem since bringin her home.
Bringing her in from the field, tacking up everything was an overwhelming nightmare for this pony to the point she would physically hurt herself just coming in from the field.
Over 2021 and 22 i have worked closely with the mare and charlie and her parents to deal with all her issues and they are coming on leaps and bounds. Ebony no longer has to be sedated for the farrier i cant tell you how sharp this mares back legs are with forward ears! My amazing dentist Stephen Smith sorted her teeth under sedation but she actually loved him! We didnt use the clamp but got the job done nice and calmly! Simon Hutton has supported the mare from a veterinarian point of view.
Charlie has done an amazing job for such a young teenager from taking 4 people and a good 30minutes to load humanely she is now loving loading due to charlies commitment. Comes in from the field calm, even lets charlie pick out her back feet which was a huge dangerous issue.
Whatever this 6yo mare has gone through we will never know and it could of simply been the change of home. She is for sure a different pony every day but charlie is smashing being her support net.
Well done charles!
