A couple of very relaxing days, Bess the Cockerpoo was very pleased to see me for the first time since I was at college (I think really she’s pleased to see everyone but I’m taking a win).

Marley the spaniel was very well behaved on the table.

Today Archie the gorgeous Golden Retriever enjoyed coming to visit me for a long lay down.

Rolo the 15 week old Patterdale Terrier had a Puppy groom. She was a little nervous to begin with but with a lot of hugs and a few treats she enjoyed her time at the Furry Pit Stop, not going to lie I didn’t want her to leave.

Dexter the Jack Russell back for his usual wash, dry and de shed. Unbelievable how much fur he lost!

Pepper the Bichon Frise had first teeth cleaning with me. She was very well behaved and has a lovely set of white teeth.

Chip and Cookie the cutest of cute chihuahuas came for a wash, dry and nail trim, they are happy as long as they are together

Jaxson the spainel kneeded an appointment after his recent surgery and he’s looking all the better furr it. Also, the required surgery was nothing to do with me for those of you at the ready to take the mick.

Tess the bat-sh*t crazy sprocker was a joy to have, although it’s a bit like trying to groom a photon she moves that quick! She’s such a lovely girl and you can’t help but smile in her company.

Daisy the ultra polite spaniel came back for usual full groom she was very good at giving her paw regardless of me wanting it or not ( ).

Mabel the westie made her way in for a wash and dry after her holidays.

Benji the labradoodle was a gentleman and very much enjoyed eating anything he could find in my salon.

Milo the Sproodle and his amazing soft fur were first in to the Furry Pit Stop this morning.

Rolo the spaniel had his first visit. He was a typical needy spaniel (which of course I love), constantly wanting to sit up against me and be as close as possible which was adorable but made grooming a little tricky at times.

Bella the 12 year old sh*tzu came in next. She was a total darling and I’m looking forward to seeing her again soon.

Junie the tiny cross breed sang to me throughout her groom, she made it very clear her nails weren’t to be trimmed but other than that we had a lovely time.

Monty and Minnie made my morning, the spaniel siblings came for a wash and dry before going home after their holibobs at one of the local dog home boarders.

Sam the Doberman cross Akita had his usual wash, dry and de shed. He sang to me the whole time; such a lovely voice.

Juno the luscious Labrador also had a wash, dry and de shed. A little timid at first but as usual we became friends once she found my bribing treats.

Sky the 14 year old border collie was the epitome of chilled this morning.

Elsie the Bernese mountain dog and her amazing coat…. of emulsion were in next after managing to walk into the freshly painted wall at home.

Elivis the pug was a little shuck up during his nail trim, ok so it sounded like I was mudering him, but we got all got through it relatively unharmed (I have a few scratches).

Stanley the gorgeous spaniel came back for his usual hand-strip and as usual he fell asleep on the table, honestly you would think I’d spent 4 hours telling him about my stamp collection, never known a dog to fall asleep so easily.

Archie the King Charles spaniel came in with his beautiful big eyes. He was adamant in keeping eye contact with me throughout his groom which made it rather awkward, but when you’re that cute he can get away with it.

I met Penny, a ten year old Sh*tzu cross, another well behaved pooch who stood very still for her groom.

Pepper the Bichon Frise was back for her usual wash, dry and cut. Got a little bored towards the end but I kept her entertained with my singing.

Also today we have the lovely Frankie staying with us at the Furry Pit Stop. She belongs to some family friends of ours and she’s thoroughly enjoyed the attention.

Whinston the cocker spaniel popped in for a wash and dry after his holidays and Ollie the cockerpoo was very well behaved on his return visit.

Nala the chow chow had her first ever groom, she was a little protective at the start but gave lots of sloppy kisses by the end of her groom

Ozzy the 12 year old border collie nipped in for a nail trim, he’s still looking very young!

Mollie the Jack Russell returned. She was very bouncy and enjoyed using my arms as a climbing frame.

We also had a lovely visit from Rotherham council today to have a look around my new small business. They also seemed very happy but didn’t need a wash, dry or groom today but seemed interested in using my services in the future.

Mature Ruby was a pleasure to groom this morning, she was a very gentle start to the week.

Buckie 3 month old maltipoo came back for a trim but apparently he wants to keep it, by eating it!

Another wise dog, this time Jake the Sh*tzu still looking good at 15. Not a big fan of his feet being touched, but definitely looked cooler and younger after his cut

Arlo the 3 year old Sprocker wound up the day (and maybe the neighbours). Very giddy but quite timid on the table, he enjoyed voicing his opinion regarding anyone walking past my salon with a few howls and barks. I definitely felt safe having him around.

Minnie the 10 year old pug and still looking good, especially after a lovely was and dry.

Clementine the 6 month old labradoodle had her first big girl groom, she has to be one of the best behaved puppies ever.

Rolo was next and he put new meaning into the word crazy, he has incredible coloured hair.

Scrappy the Yorkshire terrier is a regular visitor to the Furry Pit Stop. Not a big fan of his nails trimmed, but he’s so adorable.

And what a way to finish your week but with “Southern” Steve, a 9 month old Golden Retriever who also had his first big boy groom. He was very chilled on the table & enjoyed a little run around my salon. Can’t wait for him to visit the north again.

Ok so I did a thing, in my defence it was the first time and I double booked an appointment. Fortunately my lovely customers were very understanding.

They might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but proud Prada the XL Bully came for a wash and dry. She was very loving and very licky but we had a good time together.

Perfect Poppy popped in next, a timid but delightful little Cockerpoo, she was a little nervous to begin with but as usual best buds by the end.

Jet jumped onto my table; literally, and then into my bath without me asking her. She’s an absolute star and if there was ever going to be a competition for being a groomers best pal, she’s a contender for gold.

Tired Teddy was last in. He’d been playing in the garden all day enjoying the sunshine which unfortunately meant when it came to groom time he thought it should be snooze time. Another beautiful day of glorious sunshine and delightful dogs.

A golden start to the day with a Retriever x red setter. He’s so cute and once I’d persuaded him to stand up and not lay down on the job, he was well behaved.

Then Toby turned up (well actually I walked him here but what’s a slight exaggeration in favour of alliteration) he’s the Old English sheepdog and he was definitely feeling the effects of the summer sun.

Winnie waited until last to waddle in. She always enjoys her regular wash and dry but seemed to want the water cooler than usual today.

Me & Bear the Toy Poodle got on very well today, he even let me trim his face without drama, I didn’t even have to phone his human for assistance, a smashing time was had by all.

Cocker Katniss came in next, she’s a very timid rescue and I think she’s starting to trust me on her second visit. Although she definitely thinks standing still without blinking makes her invisible.

Ten-year-Tilly another terrific cocker spaniel then trooped in, she was lovely and her Elvis leg made her even more cute.

And can you comprehend it, three consecutive Cockers, this time it was Chewie who came for a puppy groom. Very playful had to dry him multiple times, he thought the water bowl was a paddling pool and if emptying it the fastest was an Olympic sport, he would have nailed a gold medal.

Good evening, here’s a run down of the pooches visiting me today. Freddy had a pet-i-cure, (yes I’m still going with that, also yes I think the spelling keeps changing). Pedro the Chihuahua was beautifully behaved and had way more hair to spare than I was expecting

Luna the polar bear, left a cloud of white fur behind, most of it on my clothes or in my hair but she was an absolute darling of a girl. Also she wasn’t actually a polar bear; honest.

Finally Benji the Dachshund was very, very excited to satisfy his grooming and climbing requirements. Must admit Dachshund’s are rapidly becoming one of my favourite breeds.

Great to see Ralph the Cockerpoo coming back for a visit, he thought so too. He had me totally under control, by training me to give him a treat and he’d let me trim him for a bit.

Ellie the Dachshund wasn’t impressed at having her nails trimmed, I think she was hoping for a full pet-icure.

And then another chap who didn’t like his feet touched, this time Lucky the sh*tzu. Lucky for me he was very well behaved.

Then it was the ever so pleasant Miss Darcy who had a return visit. 11 years old and spent most of the time staring out of the window.

With all the names beginning with R today you’d be forgiven for thinking it was pirate day at the Furry Pit Stop, we’ve had:

- Rocco (number 1)
- Ruby
- Reggie
- Ronnie
- Rocco (number 2)

But first we had Crumpet who snuck in for a last minute visit, as always she was cute and well behaved.

Followed by my first Rocco of the day. Rocco the Pug enjoyed the drier, apparently he’s enjoying the weather but the breeze made a nice change.

Ruby, Reggie and Ronnie the spaniel-siblings simultaneously visited. Ruby took the lead with Reggie and Ronnie being a little more nervous.

And then Rocco the bulldog enjoyed his wash and dry, not sure we wanted to come out from under the shower and he definitely looked a lot cooler.

A fun filled Monday, Izzy the Lhasa Apso x Jack Russell. 12 year old and such a gentle old lady.

Sh*tzu sisters, Millie and Pixie wouldn’t leave each others side and kept close guard of my table who my occupied by each other.

Coco the cavapoo x kangaroo (I made up the last bit). Very bouncy, had to close my windows in fear of her making a quick exit. Didn’t like his feet being touched, I think he just wanted to keep all his feathers to support his flight tendencies.

Maggie the Cavapoo conclude the day, she dribbled more than Chris Waddle but to be fair it was very hot in the evening sun. Love her white beard and chest, (please don’t tell my husband a like a white beard though will you).

Please can all my Treeton based customers keep a look out for this little beauty. He went missing last night 🐾💙

Brew the handsome Cockerpoo, Rocky the charming chihuahua and Daisy the the delightful Sprocker completed a very happy and warm Saturday at the Furry Pit Stop. Also I would like to give a big shout out to George, my amazing son who has developed the website for my business. www.furrypitstop.co.uk

It’s been a very busy and hot day at the Furry Pit Stop today (luckily it was a little cooler inside), starting with Cookie the caverpoo making his return visit for his first big boy groom. Coco popped in for a quick nail trim. Followed by Frankie the beautiful cocker spaniel (and her pack up of cheese and ham her mummy sent her). Judd the English Bulldog was amazingly behaved for his puppy groom. And lastly but definitely by no means least, brother and sister duo Marshall and Winnie the dachshunds. They were inseparable and enjoyed being on the table at the same time, just a good job they were both small! Hope you have a great evening guys.

Finally the sunshine graced us with its presence. River the Cocker Spaniel rushed in, she was happy to be groomed but only as long as you were rubbing her belly. Lovely Lady got confused between me and a climbing frame, she’s the Cockerpoo. Woody was wonderful and gave me a lesson in hugging.

A popular day for black Spaniels, and we started the day with Poppy, the black Spaniel, she was an absolute darling of a girl.

We also had Jarvis the Cocker Spaniel, he was rather timid at first but we were laughing along by the end. I think it was my singing which helped him relax. Looking forward to meeting him again, just so I can ask “Do you remember the first time”.

Continuing the common spaniel theme, we had Annie back, the black Cockerpoo , we love Annie and her owner (her name is Deborah) as she’s also Mummy to one of our dogs, although she’s better on the table than her daughter is, ours looks like she’s at a disco 2000.

And we are done with the 1990’s Indie band references for the evening. It’s taken it out of me today. Feel like I’ve been beaten to a Pulp.

Happy Monday, hope the disappointment of last night’s football is behind you. It was a fun start to the week with Dora the 7 month old Cavapoo, she was cute, well behaved and of course liked to explore but don’t think she’s learning Spanish.

Milo the Border Collie x Poodle didn’t really understand the purpose of visiting me. You see, I thought he was here for a groom, he thought it was the Guinness world record neck licking competition, not sure who won, it might have been neck and neck.

Elsie the Bernese mountain dog was very patient whilst I washed and dried both of her coats, I love double coated dogs but they definitely take more than double the time to dry.

Tilly the Spaniel was last, and think she must have had a hard day at school as all she wanted to do was lay down and chill. Can’t blame her really as that’s what I’m going to do now.

Need to find owners! Lovely little French bulldog - He was found yesterday near Beighton Gala and the volunteers kept him safe whilst we hoped we’d find his owner! Owner has still not been found, he is chipped but not registered. He can be kept where he is until Monday but would be difficult for him to stay any longer. Someone must be missing him - he’s very sweet and well looked after!

It’s been a busy Saturday at the Furry Pit Stop, Winnie the toy Cockerpoo visited first, think she must have been out last night as all she wanted to do was lie down and fall asleep. Dexter the Jack Russell left enough fur behind to make a clone during his de-shed. Peggy the Cairn Terrier and Harvey the Sprolie both came in for a wash, dry and trim. Good news though, I’ve been telling all the dogs today to keep their paws and claws crossed for tomorrow, and they are all excited to chase the ball around your TV screens.

It’s been a day of cocker spaniels today in the Furry Pit Stop. Giddy Belle came for a return visit, making me smile with her energy. Trevor came in next, perfect on the table and such a gentle soul. Last but definitely by no means least, Marley who was so chilled out and happy to be in the salon, looking forward to seeing him again at his next appointment. Happy Friday guys, have a good weekend.
