A new name to reflect my feelings towards animals. (Unfortunately I pressed the edit button too soon so I will be editing it to Earth Angels Animal Healing next week!) We are lucky to have them and they deserve the best care and attention.
I offer reiki and rahanni (both energy healing therapies) and biodynamic craniosacral therapy for most things with four legs! I am an experienced equestrian and dog owner and am also happy handling other animals including goats, sheep and pigs.
These gentle and effective techniques can help with a wide range of issues especially inflammatory problems and habits that affect the ability to handle the animal, or make them annoying or unpleasant to have on the yard; and helping animals to settle in new surroundings and release trauma safely and gently. Reiki and rahanni are non-contact modalities so the animal can be in a safe area for them without having to restrain them in any way. They can also be sent remotely. The techniques work by calming the nervous system, relaxing the animal and shifting stuck energy.
I am also a registered osteopath for humans, and have spent the last 23 years training and practising as an osteopath, and training in healing animals with reiki and rahanni.
I will also be returning to doing distance group healing sessions once a week. These are suitable for humans as well as animals.
I'm based in South Cambridgeshire, UK.

I had a day off today with lovely Badger. He recently got an injury in the field - he cut himself just above his near side eye. It was very deep, in fact he chipped the bone. He’s been stabled (he had limited turnout when it was very cold and there was no mud) and we’ve kept it clean. I haven’t treated the wound directly but I’ve used rahanni to keep him calm while I’ve cleaned it, and some biodynamic and fascial release to aid drainage and ensure his autonomic nervous system is working as best it can - this helps the immune system to function properly. I was exercising his gently at first but this week we’ve had a couple of canters which he’s enjoyed enormously. The wound is healing nicely and he should be able to go back out in the field soon.

Since August I’ve had the very lovely Badger on loan. The photo is from this year’s Racing Welfare Newmarket Heath ride - the racecourse has its own reservoir and the ground was good enough in places to gallop!
This morning I couldn’t ride so I gave him a reiki session which he loved. He’s getting on a bit and had areas that needed attention on his poll, withers and his hips, and his gut needed attention. This is despite having had the attention of the dentist and chiropractor in the last few weeks. He loved the treatment, it’s very calming and relaxing. As a reiki / rahanni therapist my job isn’t to diagnose but to help change the energy of an area in order that it can heal. In my experience, problems areas feel different to normal tissue, and that can be stored in the electromagnetic field of a person or animal. It’s that that reiki helps with. It’s very good for horses that haven’t settled into a new environment/ with a new owner or rider, post - injury or surgery, and for hoeses that are stressy in their stable or on the yard. Give me a shout if you’re interested in finding out more or would like me to come and give a demo session.

Animals (and babies) often only need a few minutes’ treatment …

Daily reminder that Turtles are not “inside” their shells. They *are* their shells.

A tortoise/turtle shell contains nerves that connect to its central nervous system. So they can feel pain and pleasure when their shells are touched, stroked, knocked, dropped, or injured.

Contrary to what many people believe the shell is an inseparable part of their anatomy, forming part of its skeletal structure. The ribs and spine are fused inside the shell and contain nerves connected to the nervous system.

Take away - be gentle with your tortoise and give their shell a stroke, they will probably enjoy it 🐢

❌ RAPESEED! ❌

It’s that time of year again where farmers fields have blossomed into pretty yellow flowers, these plants are called r**eseed. Although it may be tempting to place your dog in the mist to take a scenic photo, please avoid this at all costs!

Rapeseed is extremely poisonous for dogs, especially in highly sensitive canines.

Rapeseed is listed by Dogs Trust as toxic to our dogs if ingested and can cause symptoms such as:

❌Haemolytic Anaemia
❌ Blindness
❌ Damaged Nervous System
❌ Digestive Disorders
❌ Breathing Problems

Even walking through these fields should be avoided! In June 2019, a dog was been reported to suffer from severe open wounds after running through a crop of r**eseed.

Please seek immediate veterinary attention if your dog shows any signs of r**eseed poisoning.

It was a grey old day for an outdoor reiki session today but me and Jessie had a lovely time seeing a beautiful rescue and her mum. Then we met up with my first ever reiki teacher and her dog for a walk to Wimpole in the wind and rain. I can do reiki anywhere - just call and we can chat about your animal’s needs.

Animals have always been an important part of my life. I grew up on a small holding on the Isle of Wight, we had all sorts from bees and chickens to a donkey called Jason, and our beloved Anglo-Nubian goats. But when I was eight the real love affair began when I went horse riding for the first time. The pony was a “proper Thelwell” called Trigger, but as soon as I sat on him the world made sense.
With Reiki I can give back to animals what they have always, unfailingly given to me, and what’s often been taken from them - connection, love and trust.
