WANTED: HOMECHECKERS

Do you have a spare 1-2 hours a week to help us rehome beautiful rescues like Charlie?

We are looking for homecheckers to come on board and carry out homechecks (virtually via video call) and ask questions to our potential adopters!

No experience needed - you can sit in on as many homechecks as you need with our existing team before you feel confident to carry out one alone.

Our team are very friendly and welcoming (and a little crazy 🤪) and are dedicated to finding the best homes for our Romanian Rescues.

Every year the rawhides come out and people who don't understand, buy them for their beloved dogs.
Just don't.

We strive to provide the best for our furry friends, but sometimes what seems like a harmless treat can hide potential dangers. There have been documented cases of dogs with pieces of rawhide lodged in their windpipe, stomach, or intestines, creating choking hazards and an intestinal blockage, gastrointestinal distress, such as vomiting or diarrhea, can occur if rawhide irritates the digestive tract . Since rawhide is a byproduct of leather, some items pose a significant challenge to a dog’s digestive system when it comes to breaking down.

During the manufacturing process, rawhide is often soaked in a cocktail of chemicals to preserve it and enhance its flavor. These chemicals can include formaldehyde or chromium salts, hydrogen peroxide and bleach, which may pose risks to adult dogs and young puppies alike.

Safer alternatives like completely digestible Himalayan yak chews, dehydrated sweet potato chews, or non rawhide chews.

Our first visit to Cannock Chase today. We had a great time and after a 2 hour walk, probably only did about 1/4 of this place! Highly recommended and now we’re back to work tomorrow. And, yes- we did have another stowaway with us today. 🐶🥰🐶

Pool party pups having fun while staying cool and hydrated. 🧊🐶🚿☀️😎

Today we will be alternating between the shade and the pools. 🚿 🐶 🧊 Pups are happy to not have walks in the heat, but a bit of time out of the house is good for them mentally and physically if you can keep them cool. Ideal places are shady spots and woods, especially if they have fresh water sources. I have personally found woods can often be a good 10 degrees cooler. Alternatively early mornings and late evenings are good times when it’s cooler. 😎🐶🧊

Happy birthday 🥳 to the Perfectly Pampered permanent crew 🐕‍🦺🐕‍🦺-Rafi is 4, and Rio is 5 today!! 🥳🥳🥳 They are the best pups, colleagues and friends I could ever ask for. 🥰😍🥰 I hope they can’t complain about their day! Still to come is goose and turkey for dinner, followed by raw duck necks for pudding. Congratulations both on surviving another year of my shenanigans. 😂🙈😂 💙🩵💙

Today we are doing our best to keep cool by sticking to the shade, and plenty of dips in the pools. ☀️😎🧊 When the weather is hot, there is no need to exercise your dogs, however, I do believe it’s still good for them to get out and about. These pups are loving the long cool grass to lie down in and roll around in. I try to keep as still as possible, which encourages them to keep it calmer. 🐢 It’s great for dog mental health to get out of the house, have company, sniff and mooch. Good ideas to entertain dogs, whilst also keeping them cool and calm are to throw some treats scattered on the ground so that they have to sniff and find them, or to prepare frozen goodies where they have to work to get the good stuff out. I will post some links of these in the comments section. Just remember to check that ingredients you use are safe for dogs. E.g. if using peanut butter, make sure it is Xylitol free. Other things I do with my lot is: empty ice cubes into a paddling pool, or throw toys in there. Dogs enjoy fishing them out, and it also helps to keep them cool, hydrated and entertained. 🤩. So, we had an unexpectedly lovely afternoon weather wise, so I have to thank the meteorologists who study for years, but got it wrong today. 😬🤦🏼‍♀️😂 The pups had a great afternoon at the field and in the doggy pool. 🥰🥰🥰 💙🩵💙
