🧡What a difference a year makes…🧡
Since I damaged my knee in September 2022 I have struggled with my weight. I stopped my every day job as a shepherd and started something much less physical. I still had my sheep and did bits but I did not feel myself any more and it was hard. Fast forward to June, I weighed myself and I was shocked that I was 2 stone heavier than I remember being last time I had the courage to check. It was really hard but at that moment I decided I had to do something.
Fast forward to today and I am nearly 3 stone lighter than the girl who decided to change in June. Everything has got easier, I move easier, I run easier, swim easier. I’m still not quite at my goal and still have knee tweaks but we are almost there. It hadn’t hit me until I saw the second picture from last year of my in My ridge-line coat.

🥂🤍Happy new year you fabulous lot! 🤍🥂
2024 in photos, we’ve moved house, made some changes with our flock, saw old friends and made new ones, we’ve won shows and we’ve lambed sheep, we’ve made hay, banged posts in, we’ve ridden horses, we’ve travelled MILES! we’ve had trying times and fantastic times, and to top it all off it’s the last year in my 20s!
but overall 2024 you’ve been alright!
Love and best wishes for the new year to all my family, friends, and my better half!
Hope 2025 treats you all well!

🖤A fabulous weekend away, 🖤
First to Newbury for a night away together for a golden wedding anniversary with good food and company, got to dress up 🖤

Then a Sunday spent looking round a racing stables in kingsclere, (I booped many horses) happy day!

Then on the way home a drive around countryside to see the spectacular Highclere Castle! Must watch downtown abbey again!

Then a stop off on the way home in Stow for some Christmas shopping and had to go and visit my favourite shop! Back home now and Bobby is cooking roast dinner, a truly lovely weekend!

Sometimes experiments turn out well!
This ewe lamb is out of a north ronaldsay x Hebridean by a Lleyn, the former are both knows as traditional no fuss hardy native breeds, the latter is more of a commercial sheep, big, low input and fabulous mothers.
she had turned out sturdy, with a good carcass, a fabulous fleece and is incredibly low maintenance. She was bigger than her mother before weaning and also has the benefit of being really chilled to!
We’ve done the same this year too but I can’t wait for May(shearing time) to be able to have that fleece from her!

It’s beginning to look like 🎄
Tb to Friday night where we had a lovely meal at our local pub, it’s been a funny week, spent most of the time checking to make sure no sheep have been blown away in the storm!
Everyone is safe and happy still!

Jumping on the Black Friday weekend band wagon with my kind of Black Friday (yes I know it’s Sunday…)
Hebridean ewes and the keeper ewe lambs have been put all down the bottom home field. And all young tips and ram lambs are in the right top field, since we have cut down on numbers since last year its actually amazing how much grass we have this time of year compared to this time last year.
The fencing we did the other week, separating out big field has helped massively as we can move them around between the three fields!

🖤 Some time out with my girl! 🖤
After a bit of a rest over the summer whilst I was loving house, showing and generally working, we finally got out again.
We’ve been together 9 years now, I’ve had her since she was weaned and she’s turning into my soul pony.

🇬🇧🚜 Today is a monumental day! 🚜🇬🇧
Good luck to all of you heading to London today to support our farmers with the recent decision on inheritance tax for farmers.
This new decision that that labour goverment has made will change British farming as we know it, it may not effect me directly, not having a family farm, however over the years I have got to know so many farmers, seen the blood sweat and tears that they put into their farms, the long nights the early workings, the care, the struggles. The amount of time they put into their children, showing them the way, getting them involved so that one day they can run things, to have the possibility that this hard work, this care will among to nothing in the long run is heart breaking. Farms should stay with families!
It may not affect me, and it may not affect you, but it affects them, our farmers, our food, our future!!
