Sorry, I haven’t been on our page a lot recently, all year mostly. I have had lots of things going on. Although I have not been updating the page I have had a little of 3 beautiful kits. These are now available to reserve and they are looking for their homes. I will update the page with their photos very soon. Unfortunately, This will be my last year breeding as I just haven’t got the time for my ferrets anymore and if I have not got the time it’s unfair to breed another little next year. I will be looking for homes for my adult ferrets too which is extreenly difficult to do. They shall be posted once I have spoken to relevant people in regards to rehoming etc. There are a few people I will message personally who I would like to offer my adults too so please bare with me. If you are interested in any of the above, get in touch. Xx

Madge has blessed us with 3 Gorgeous Kits. 2 Boys 1 Girl. Kits are Part Angora Babies. Their father being Karismas Kartier, our German import of 2020.

Unfortunately Madge had given birth to infact 8 Kits but did not take to motherhood quickly this year and I was left with hand rearing most night around the clock, Madge then did start to feed her babies and all was looking well, unfortunately this did not last and 5 did not make it.

Marthur, She has unfortunately had a Phantom Pregnancy. She is being well cared for still in her nesting cage and is slowely coming back into season. I am yet to decide whether to pair her again to Derick but I will keep you all updated.

𝐖𝐀𝐍𝐓 𝐓𝐎 𝐇𝐎𝐌𝐄 𝐀 𝐋𝐘𝐓𝐓𝐋𝐄𝐒 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟐 𝐊𝐈𝐓?

As usual, anyone interested in homing a part Angora Lyttles kit this year will be subject to completing a questionaire, this is to make sure my kits are only going to the best homes possible. Please get in touch sooner rather than later as this year I potentially only have three kits. I take deposits from 4 weeks old only and you are then able to reserve your kit. Please pm me any questions and I will be happy to answer them for you!

𝐇𝐈 𝐄𝐕𝐄𝐑𝐘𝐎𝐍𝐄! 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟐 𝐏𝐀𝐈𝐑𝐈𝐍𝐆𝐒 𝐔𝐏𝐃𝐀𝐓𝐄!

I have decided to do a repeat pairing from last year between Marthur X Derick. I will also be doing a pairing between our Madge and ‘Karismas Kartier’ Our German Part angora German import 🇩🇪From marthur we shall expect some beautiful Angora & Angora carriers and then from Madge and Kartier we shall expect some part Angora babies and possibly some Angora Carriers! I can’t promise there shall be Full angoras from Madge x Kartier as this will be a pairing that should give me some indication wether kartier is a carrier or the gene or not. Kits will be Part angora due to their Geniology and anything more , we will see 😆. Our first pairing will take place in the next couple of days.

Look at Kartier as a Kit! 💙🇩🇪 Kartier was imported from Germany by an amazing breeder, I am slightly late with posting my planned pairings this year due to moving house including the ferretry to a new location which is stressful! and getting everything sorted but they will be out in a couple of weeks and kartier will be being included in this years planned pairings , producing part angoras and possibly Carriers. I am only having two litters this year, maybe only 1 I am not sure. This year didn’t go an planned and I had hoped to import some really fantastic pedigrees but just wasn’t the right year. Possibly a repeat pairing from last year only if I have enough interest but definitely kartier will be being paired.

Please Think before leaving a nasty Review.

The Story:

I had homed a kit to you, did all my usual checks and bought the kit to you myself. Such a lovely home and was beyond happy. You signed a contract and received a copy. A few months down the line, you contact me telling me the kit isn’t getting along with your other ferrets. I kept in close contact with you and I gave you the best advice I could give you. Still wasn’t getting any better. I offered you this. I said to you I am more than happy to have your kit back with me for a few weeks/ months while I try and Introduce him to my ferrets in hope he will learn to behave and learn to get along with other ferrets. I said to you in the meantime, have a think wether you would like him back, want me to rehome him following my usual new contract and home check etc or wether you want me to keep him at my ferretry. I also offered you the choice of keep having him back and forth to keep trying to reintroduce him to your group in hope that after time he will behave with them. I took him to mine and had him for several weeks free of charge, I paid for all his food (complete minces) and toys etc. I I did say to you that even though he was in my care, the ferret still remains solely your ferret! You have the final say on what happens. I was just essentially minding him for a while for you. I was doing this as it’s my job to help you if you have had a kit from me and I will always offer my support and ferretry when needed and it is never any trouble for me at all. I contacted you many times letting you know how he was doing and After several weeks you contact me saying “I have had a think and it’s best you keep him” I was more than happy to do so and told you that I will keep him at my ferretry as he has really settled in well and to rehome him again wouldn’t be fair at all. I got another message from you days later “I appreciate what you have done, I understand I won’t get my deposit back but can I have a refund for the ferret” I kindly sent you a message back explaining why you wouldn’t receive your money back and why that is quite rude to ask, especially when I have gone to every effort I could to help you and looked after him for many weeks and also out of my own pocket paid for his kibble , toys and raw diet which isn’t cheap. I also explained that you did own him for many months before I took him into my care and that in the contract is states that only if there is something genetically wrong with the ferret or a deformity would you revive a full refund and then come back into my care. To leave the review “such a terrible breeder, only in it for the money” is unkind and not true. I am not annoyed or frustrated at you or the situation I just think It would be a good idea to post. I won’t mention names or the ferret as ethically it not being right to do so. My aim of this Post is only to say please be nice, please think before you place a bad review on a page when I can’t remove it and especially when you haven’t told the full story. My ferrets are my pets firstly and when I care for them so much as breed purely out of wanting to see my pets produce their own I really didn’t want last breeding season so be how it was and to ruin the fun and enjoyment out of why I do it.

This breeding season has not been enjoyable. I just hope next year I can just annoy the process, enjoy spending time with my ferrets and their kits and focus more on them than trying to please everybody which this year has shown me isn’t possible.

To all the other homes my kits went to, you are amazing! All of you have given them remarkable homes and I couldn’t be more happier.

Xx

Hi everybody!

I have had a long break from the page, much needed! I haven’t had much of an opportunity to catch up with all of you who had a kit from me this year. Everyone who got a kit from me, from both 2021 litters, please can we share some updates in the comment second with some pictures 🙈

Little update: The whole situation that happened which many of you know about ended up being cleared up with the appropriate people who got in contact with myself and my vets, came to look at my ferretry and went to my vets so see apropriate paperwork regarding this specific kit. They put times together, dates together through the vets aswell as when I called the vets to when I took the kit in to the vets and put all the peices together. This was important as there was speculation of how long I left the kit for and speculations of a few days from certain people etc which obviously was not true. Phone calls to the vets were logged and had to be shown too. Passed with flying colours! 🤷🏼‍♂️ . People may Speculateas they wish too but all has been investigated appropriately and everything dealt with accordingly. As much as I didn’t want to bring it up I thought it was necessary to inform you that everything went fine and they were happy with my ferretry and evidence of the situation which only they have seen which was provided by my vets.

Ragnar is doing great in his new home with Susan, along with his brother ‘Uhtred’ and all his other new ferret siblings that he lives with. Full credit to Vicki Moxon @ Mischief Maker Ferretry.

Kit season has come to an end, which brings to me want to share a recipe that was fantastic for both my mums during pregnancy, after pregnancy and a little pick me up as and when I thought they required it. Both mums were fed on a complete 80/10/10 raw diet throughout and after, however I found this great in small amounts from a syringe for mums after their birth when in this time they rather stay in the nest and not come out to eat their raw meals as they should. It’s also a way for me to make sure they are definitely getting something in them at this crucial time and an energy boost that they may need. Infact, they really liked it and took to it extreemly well. I wouldn’t feed this as a treat personally. I would only feed this to pregnant jills, jills who need a pick me up just after birth or possibly a sick or unwell ferret that needs weight putting on. This recipe has far more protein and nutrients than any recovery foods. I shall leave the recipe down below for anyone wanting to use it.

Recipe has been slightly altered from the original that vicki uses but this was my preference and what I use.

400G Minced chicken breast
200g Minced Heart
200g Minced Liver

2 Bottles Royal Canine Recovery Liquid.
4 Qual Eggs
1/4 Teaspoon SF-50 Vitamin Powder.

I blended it all together in a blender untill a runny consistency to be able to use a syringe. If unable to do so, mix untill well mixed and feed from a spoon. This can be frozen in batches and defrosted as and when you need it. Don’t defrost and refreeze

I am not liable for any blenders breaking! Two of mine broke trying to blend this together 🤣

Today at Lyttles ferretry, we have closed our nursery doors, cleaned our breeding hutches and packed our nest beds away which means our 2021 kit season has come to an end... untill next year! It’s been a roller coaster of emotions throughout the whole experience. We have had many ups and just as many downs and from the very first pairing it has been an amazing, fulfilling and emotional experience. Luckily I can count my sleepless nights on one hand and some have been full of fear and worry and some full of excitement aswell as joy! The process has been absolutely wonderful and raising our first litters has been a very rewarding experience. It only feels like yesterday when they were first born. My excitement was beyond crazy! We did unfortunately have a few fatalities at birth from one of our litters which was a litter of 14 which was very unfortunate aswell as losing one at a few weeks old which was absolutely devastating and an experience I can only learn from for my future breeding but we successfully raised 14 kits that I am really proud of. We eventually found such amazing, kind and loving homes for each and every one of our kits this year and I cannot thank you all enough for giving them a home. It was emotional to watch them venture off into their new homes with their fantastic new owners aswell as nerve wracking, however I am confident I have chose homes correctly and I am confident in that every single one of you will take great care of your new addition and It’s been great to get daily updates of how well they are doing. It puts a smile on my face every time. Like a proud ferret mum! It was lovely to meet every single one of you aswell as your friends and family, partners and some of your other ferrets Oh and your dogs! And I hope to see you all again someday in the near future. Thank you to everyone who has helped me with my first year breeding and thank you to some amazing breeders who have helped me along the way. Thank you to everyone who’s had a kit off of me this year, I am very grateful and thank you for taking great care of them. For the rest of the year and beginning of next Year we will be posting regular updates of our adult ferrets here at Lyttles ferretry aswell as updates of kits from both of our 2021 litters. I also hope to see some of you at some ferret shows this summer as I will be trying to make an appearance at some of those for definite, it will be lovely to do and lovely to meet some of you again, I know some of my 2021 kits will also be making an appearance in some of the shows🙈

Again, thank you and I can’t wait for next year already, to do it all over again!! 😚🥰

He really reminds me of his dad in this video. There’s no better feeling than your kits being in such amazing homes and receiving updates like these. Thank you Aleksandra! ☺️

A short video of our last two albino boys from 'The Last Kingdom' Litter. They are 10 weeks old and have found their new homes although just patiently waiting for them to come and take them home🥰 which is absolutely fine as i get some extra cuddles while they are waiting. They are two very chunky boys and at the moment mum is quite happy to be in the hutch with them and spend most of their day dooking around together. Madge and her two chunky boys! First albino in the video (Finan) is starting to play a little too rough as you can see so ill be spending some time with him tomorrow to set those boundries again and to do some mroe socialisation playtime but for nkw its dinner time and bed. Some of the kits from our 'W***y Wonka' Litter gave ventured off to their new homes but there are still a few that are waiting for their new owners tk collect them so i have seperated the little and moved a few of them to a differnt hutch as it was getting a little two crowded 🤣🙈

Our ‘The Last Kingdom’ litter are nearly all gone to their new homes and doing fantastically well. The last three boys who became available, the albino will be staying with me and the other two have a found a great home.

The ‘W***y Wonka’ Litter is absolutely thriving! They took a little longer to pick up their weight but are now doing great. Lots of fun playtime and starting to hear their little dooks! They have almost all found their new homes and will be heading off in the next couple weeks at over 9 weeks old. These two are still looking for their homes. Hopefully we can find them some amazing homes with some other ferrets.

Our ‘W***y Wonka’ Litter are now 6 weeks old and starting to look all grown up! They are all eating a Raw diet and I will soon be introduced to kibble to eat alongside their Raw. Here are some quick photos I got of them a few days ago before some playtime and cuddles in the nursery. I will get some more professional photos with a fancy background within the next couple of days. We still have many kits from this litter looking for their homes and I will leave some information below and on individual pictures of which kits are available. Please get in touch if you are interested in a specific kit. 🥰

Our ‘last kingdom’ litter are fast approaching going to their new homes and I am feeling very down about it but I am confident in that I have chosen wonderful homes for all the kits that have homes so far. ☺️ I will again get their pictures up as soon as possible. Both litters are coming indoors for regular playtime and some extra cuddles and kisses from me and my family aswell as a chance for them to get used to the usual household noises.
