The lovely Moon went back home yesterday after two weeks of treadmill livery (weight watchers style!)

Top photo on arrival and bottom photo after two weeks of treadmill sessions and a change in diet. We built her sessions up to include trot and are very pleased with the results!

We look forward to future visits as she keeps up with her fitness sessions 🤍🌊

What can you expect from a treadmill session at Lazy Acres Aqua Training?

Arrive a few mins before your booked session, we will come and get you once the treadmill is ready so not to disturb any previous sessions.

Please arrive with feet picked out and washed off and tail wrapped up. We have tail bandages available if needed.

We will walk your horse or pony through a few times to get them used to the environment and become nice and relaxed.

We will then start the session. First sessions are shorter but over a few we build up to 25 minutes and water just below the knee. A full session at this depth is equivalent to 400 raised trot poles but with no lactic acid build up and less concussion!

We then wash off legs and give plenty of treats once the session is completed ✅

If you’re worried about the ground getting harder our water treadmill is the perfect alternative or addition to your usual fitness work.

It offers low concussion and the added bonus of cold water massaging the legs throughout the session alongside the usual fitness and muscle building benefits.

We’ve had some great feedback from clients including quicker cross country times, more uphill balance under saddle and ‘wonky’ horses working straighter so please get in touch with Naomi on 07711582406 to book in.

We have some livery spaces coming up for anyone looking, facilities include;

- 20x60 arena with mirrors and floodlights
- 40x60 arena with full set of showjumps and jump for joy xc fences
- XC schooling field
- Water treadmill onsite with discounted rates for liveries

Cross country field is now open (FINALLY!)

We have condensed to one field due to maintenance so it will be £20 per horse. Perfect for gaining experience with fences from 40cm - 90cm. Ditches, water and steps as well.

Showjump arena with jump for joy showjumps and xc skinnies also available to hire for £20 per horse (£10 for each additional horse in the same session).

Please bring cash in an envelope and post into the postbox on the back or the judges box when you hire.

We currently have one DIY space available on our yard. All liveries have access to excellent facilities including a 20x60 arena with floodlights and mirrors, a 40x60 arena with full set of showjumps, horse walker, wash box with hot shower and heater, on-site xc schooling field and discounted rates for our water treadmill.

Spaces available this week for treadmill sessions 🌊🌊🌊

Our water treadmill will be open from Tuesday 2nd April. Our opening times will be Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday 2pm - 6pm and Tuesday and Thursday 2pm - 7:30pm.

Bookings will be 30 min slots with up to 25 mins on the treadmill depending on fitness and experience level. Horses legs will be rinsed off after their session.

Please make sure your horse arrives with feet picked out, tail plaited and in a tail bandage (we can bandage if needed) and clean, rinsed off legs and belly.

Please disclose any injuries/special requirements when booking.
