Lottie Holly has had her first procedure

You will all remember the roaming, presumed abandoned, little black puppy that we successfully trapped on Boxing Day.
The poor little mite has had quite the journey while in our care...

You will recall that the little dot was groomed by our lovely Melissa at Doggie Deetails, who painstakingly removed what appeared to be thousands of ticks one by one from the dog's infested, filthy & matted coat. Once that outer layer was shed, we discovered yet more surprises which warranted immediate veterinary assessment, something we have never seen before...

It soon became apparent that the poor baby had been born with an abnormality. The vets confirmed what we had guessed after our inspection; the little one had internally formed male genitalia, but NONE on the outside! Externally, the little dog had neither male or female genitalia, besides what appeared to be unformed open wound.

This week our vets have begun the long process of healing the little one...
They operated on her back where there was evidence of a painful exploded abscess, no doubt caused by the ticks that had resided inside her skin.

They have also removed all of the additional & unneeded internal male parts in preparation for the next phase of her journey. Now she is recuperating while the vets refer her to a specialist practice for her reconstructive surgery.

She now has a name; HOLLY, which we thought fitting for the season she came into our care. She has been a very brave, sweet, gentle little girl throughout all of the prodding & poking, yet again showing to us time & time again she is nothing but a love bug that just needed to be given a chance.

This 'chance' is an expensive chance, but we believe she is worth every penny. If you, like us, believe she deserves this 2nd chance, would you consider donating towards her veterinary bill?

When we take a dog into our care, we make a commitment to that dog, no matter the financial cost. This next phase of surgery will no doubt cost us thousands of pounds, which is most likely the reason she was abandoned in the first place. But we will make sure she gets what she needs, we will stand by her, we will love her, we won't throw her out or put her to sleep... but we will ask for help, which is something her owners never did.

Can YOU help us help her?
If every follower on this page donated just one pound it would a BIG difference to our small rescue. Every penny donated is impactful not only financially, but is received in a way only a small independent rescue like ours can... with great gratitude, knowing we have the support from our local & wider community, which in itself is priceless.

If you can help, please donate by clicking this link: https://buy.stripe.com/dR603fb5Efwo1DW6pi

If you cannot donate (we appreciate it's dreaded January) you CAN help Holly by sharing this post far & wide enabling us to share her story & rally support from others who may be able to spare a penny for Holly.

In the meantime, we will keep you updated with the next phase in our little ladies journey...

Thank you 🙏
