Why microchip a Cat?

Microchipping your cat will become law from June 2024, all cats whether indoor or outdoor will need to be microchipped. Indoor cats do get out, and outdoor cats love to go for a wander. Could you prove your cat was yours without one?
Rescue centres are full of cats with no identification with no way of finding their owners.
I could not bear the thought of one of my cats being sent to a rescue centre without a microchip, the fear of losing any of them and I can’t imagine how they would feel being locked up without a cuddle at night.
It is by far better than an ID tag – these can get lost. The chip is with them for their entire life and as long as us purrrents keep our details up to date they have every possible chance of being reunited very quickly.

As this year is all about the Christmas vibe and making your house smell amazing, it’s good to remember your pets when making purchases.

Whilst some say the use of essential oils can be dangerous for cats, and affect their health, we are quick to forget other household items.

Reed diffusers are quiet interesting to cats, and even if the scent itself doesn’t affect a cats’ health or Behaviour (scent is a big thing for a cats environment), the use of these reed diffusers, as pictures can be just as dangerous when ingested or knocked over.
The top of the diffuser is often wide open and the ‘reeds’ soak up the oil. Cats tend to either chew on the ‘reeds’ or knock over the oils.

Yesterday morning I had an emergency groom, where I had to help a kitty that wasn’t acting themselves due to having one of these diffusers getting into their fur.
Even as a human, the scent was very strong and overwhelming when up close.
I’m happy to report the cat is now happy and healthy.

Please keep your pets in mind when choosing scents for your house.

Pebbles was nervous & timid at first, but she's gradually getting used to me. She visits regularly for a little pampering & fuss. Even accepted a treat on this occasion! Gaining a cat's trust takes time but can be done 🤗
