Hello Pooch Parents! I'm catching up on the busy weeks I've had and the Pooch Portraits I wanted to share with you. They all agree that the comfy black chair is the place to be and show-off their best features in the sunshine. It's a shame its not smelly vision, as they smell delicious! More to follow next week. Hello Pooch Parents! Another busy week with lots of hairy dogs, getting hotter by the day. My Gallery of pawtraits are all regulars and I know their dogs very well. Keeping regular groom appointments helps you keep your dog healthy and happy. We as groomers handle your dog very thoroughly and spot any abnormalities or problems to be checked by a vet. Currently this means lots of dried grass seeds getting into paws, ears, eyes etc. These can migrate into the body of your dog and cause infections. Please check your dog in these areas after walks in any undergrowth. Enjoy the weather if you can stand it, but bear in mind our pooches can burn their feet on pavements. 🌞🌞

Hello Pooch Parents! Just a catchup with some of my regulars and a newbie from last week. The weather is about to get hotter and allergies tend to cause some dogs to itch, get too hot or shed excessive amounts of hair. Fear not...I have a brand new solution which my newbie pug has been treated to by his owner. Its a completely natural clay treatment which is used by massaging into your pooch's skin to get the blood pumping around the body while the clay brings impurities to the surface and unclogs hair follicles to free loose undercoat. These luxurious products can be used for itchy dogs with dry skin, shedding dogs or dogs with mobility issues. The results were amazing and added to a regular groom. He went home feeling like a new dog, and smelling divine. If you want to know more please call or text me on 07733981476.

Hello Pooch Parents. Hope everyone is enjoying a bit of sunshine and a warm week to come. Last week my collection of cuties happy to pose have been more than happy to relax on my new installment in the room...a comfy chair! Most of the dogs couldn't wait to jump on it and have a little lie down. I think it was a hit. Even the little puppy having his first full groom loved looking out of the window while his photo was taken. Such a cool dude. ⭐️

Hello Pooch Parents. I can't believe its June already. I've had an array of problems to solve this week with dogs harbouring those pesky sticky-bobs and general foliage caught in their legs as well as fluffy dogs needing their mat-prone hair to be brushed and combed through and styled ready for the warmer weather. I also had a newbie Puggle who is a combination of two shedding breeds, namely the Pug and Beagle. Yes, both shed enormous amounts of hair which needs to be brushed out regularly. If you need any of the above problems solving, please contact me on 07733981476. I'm here to help you. 🐾🐾

Hello Pooch Parents! Hope everyone enjoyed the celebrations over the Platinum Jubilee bank holiday, and after a lovely few days off, here's some stars from last week willing to show off their haircuts. Included is a little graduate from Puppy School! He was very confident, but its a gradual process with getting used to all the equipment, noises and being handled. But he's well on the way to a full groom.⭐

Hello Pooch Parents! Testimonial Time again. Here's a lovely regular customer with a Miniature Schnauzer I've been grooming since he was a pup. Miniature Schnauzers come in many guises, they can have very wiry hair, or softer even curlier hair once it gets longer. They can be hand-stripped or clipped (one method or the other, never both as it affects how the hair grows back). They tend to have softer coats but the softer they are, the more knotty they can get. They pick up all sorts of foliage and debris from walking about. I can groom your Schnauzer however you like...my regular's mum likes him groomed like a teddy bear, you can have the breed standard with long beard and pointy eyebrows or a combination of features to suit your lifestyle. They are such big characters and can have an aversion to a brush, But even my dog doesn't like a brush and she's a grumpy Cocker Spaniel! 🐢

Hello Pooch Parents! May is slipping by so quickly. I love May. Everything starting to grow at a fast pace, and some of my lovely Gallery participants growing in confidence with regular grooming appointments. One of these starlets couldn't be more relaxed on the table, one is the opposite end of the scale, one is a young pup learning very quickly to go with the flow and one is a little bit nervous but loves being talked to for reassurance. Enjoy...🐾🐾

Testimonial Time! Hello Pooch Parents. Its time for another Testimonial, but this time it's a brand new customer. I was blown away by getting a lovely review from a first time customer whose dog was in need of some help. It's always a learning curve for the new dog and for me, as we don't know each others little ways. This little dog needed some TLC with his legs being handled. He is now booked in on regular grooming appointments to keep his fluffy hair in tip top condition. Which gives us a chance to get to know each other that little bit more!

Hello Pooch Parents! It's warming up already and our little chums are getting a bit overheated. Regular grooms help remove extra undercoat by brushing it out and letting the air reach the skin. Or removing excess length of hair to a more practical length, or to remove any matted areas, spotting any fleas, ticks or skin problems and generally helps to keep your pooch in the best overall health. A groomer handling your dog literally from head to tail means we do spot things that may have been unknown or missed due to the above scenarios before having regular grooms. Then we can inform you as an owner to get it checked out by a vet. Here's a selection of willing starlets in my Gallery from last week. Enjoy...😁

Hi Pooch Parents! Here's another Testimonial from a few years ago, and the little black cockapoo is still a regular visitor who loves to run around my room wagging his tail and sniffing anything that might be interesting. I like to use essential oils when he's around, which help to keep him calm. I dab them on my uniform so he can sniff them up while he's facing me on the table. I too get a lovely whiff and keeps me chilled out. Cant' be bad! 😁

Hello Pooch Parents! Wow these weeks are flying by, and already we're into May. We have a small selection of participants in my Gallery from last week. Some of these little pooches needed some extra timeout to help them cope with aspects of their groom they find difficult. These include brushing and clipping front legs and back legs (which is very common) and brushing their tails. We all have our own sensitivities and dogs are the same. Enjoy...🐾🐾

04/05/2022

Hi everyone. Another look at one of my Testimonials from a lovely regular who kindly left me a review after her puppy's first appointment. That was a distant memory. I'm still grooming the beautiful boy and he's much bigger now. Considering all the brushing, fluffing and styling that goes on, he is the softest, most laid-back personality on the table. Once on the floor - that's a different matter. But that's ok, as he knows what's required when I'm working with him then its time to play! If you have a puppy who needs to get to know the insides of a groom room, the sights and sounds of equipment and needs to start to feel a brush and being handled regularly, please get in touch. I now have a Puppy Package which will help your pup with it all gradually. They need to be under 6 months old. After that, the risk is they may already start to get matted at their adult hair starts to grow through. This is very important to manage as soon as possible to avoid having to clip all their hair short to start from square one. Please call or text 07733981476 for information. Enjoy.🐾🐾

Hello Pooch Parents! Hope you all enjoyed the Bank Holiday weekend. Managed to gather up another collection of starlets from last week for my Gallery. They include many regular regulars and some newbies. It always amazes me how much undercoat you can brush out of a Pug for example! You may not realise that Pugs, Jack Russell's, Border Terriers and Beagles (to name but a few) moult like crazy with hair that works its way around your house like tumbleweed. A professional groom will remove as much of this as possible and free the skin of this extra burden so their skin can breath. Pomeranians and German Spitz also have dead undercoat that needs brushing out regularly to avoid clumping and matting, again to allow their skin to breath and avoid skin issues. Back to work tomorrow with some fluffy dogs to keep me busy...🐾🐾

Morning everyone! Wanted to show you another lovely review from my archive. Every little dog I look after is given my undivided attention and treated as my own, on their own. They get my Starlet Service - so they can act like themselves, go for a sniff in the garden, have a toilet break, a cuddle or a timeout if that's helpful to them. They leave feeling like a superstar! 🀩

Hello Pooch Parents! Catching up on some starlets from the last few days. One of these cutie pies is the only dog I know who actually lies down in the bath to go to sleep. He's so comfortable in there, I think he likes the warm water feeling and gives me a dirty look when I'm trying to shampoo him for disturbing him! If you have a fluffy dog that needs a transformation, or a spaniel who looks like they're an overgrown woolly sheep (my own Cocker Spaniel is in this category)...then please call or text my mobile 07733981476 for availability. All my lovely customers are treated to a completely natural double shampoo which smells divine, ears cleaned, nails trimmed, their hair is blow dried then styled to your requirements. (for a full groom). Of course they also get lots of cuddles for free and collected by their owners with a gorgeous spritz of perfume. I wish I was a dog receiving all that pampering.🐢

Hello Pooch Parents! Another week has skipped by, but it was Easter week, so here's my Gallery of willing participants enjoying the sunny weather and looking smart for the holiday period. You may notice quite a few Schnauzers but all with different styles. These are a good example of how I adapt your dog's unique groom to your requirements. So Schnauzers can be groomed in the breed style, a more practical shorter breed style or a teddy bear style. They all look super cute! There are also quite a few fluffy cavapoos. It's amazing how they all have different hair types - some have very dense curly locks, others more wavy thinner hair. Your dog is an individual and should look unique and special. To round up the group, we have a timid little Shih Tzu with a very unique colouring. No two dogs are the same. I love it like that. It makes my day very interesting. Hope you all enjoyed your Easter.🐣🐣

Iβ€˜ve been going through some admin and came across testimonials from a few years back. I've picked out ones from long term regulars whose dog’s I am still grooming today and there are also some brand new customers who have all taken the time to leave a lovely comment. Thank you to all of them over the years and up to the present day. If your dog needs that extra special one to one, please contact me on 07733981476.

Thought I’d share these with you over the next few weeks, as it makes me feel very appreciated and puts a smile on my face. 😁

So I’ll kick off with one from a long term regular whose two dogs I know very, very well. I love them to bits.β™₯β™₯

Hello Pooch Parents! Another week is behind us, with another gallery of regular faces, and some new ones 😁. Its lovely when I can help someone with their pooch who may have some health issues, or age issues for example. I will always adapt my groom to accommodate arthritic legs, or losing an eye, becoming blind or being a bit stressy. There is always a solution to your dog's problem to achieve the goal of a beautifully clean, pampered, groomed dog that I hope you will be happy with. Enjoy this bunch of starlets ⭐⭐⭐

PUPPY GROOM SCHOOL
When can my puppy start Puppy Groom School?
As soon as your new puppy has completed all their vaccinations, they are advised to enrol in Puppy Groom School. Generally this is 3-4 months old.

An early introduction to the grooming process is very important to get your little pup familiar and happy with being handled and groomed. This is even more important if your dog has curly or fluffy hair, to avoid them getting matted.

Bow Wow Dog Grooming offers a 3 session course in grooming etiquette which includes:

Session 1 and 2
These will be 30 mins each, allowing your puppy to have lots of fun playing and sniffing around the groom room. After a toilet break and water available, they will be introduced to their face, feet and body being handled (with lots of cuddles), gently brushed and getting used to being on a grooming table, being in the bath with the noise of the shower, dryer and clipper equipment noises.

Session 3
This will be no more than an hour. Your puppy will be washed and shampooed with all natural shampoo, gently brushed and blow-dried. If your puppy is happy with all in sessions 1 and 2, their eyes, feet and hygiene areas will be tidied as part of a Puppy Groom and nails clipped if your puppy is happy enough. Breaks and playtime will be included so the session is fun. Every puppy is different, so they may progress at different rates. The aim is to nurture a happy, confident puppy, who should then enjoy future grooms into adulthood.

Free bow or flower and a Graduation Certificate!

To be booked as 3 x weekly or fortnightly sessions (depending on hair type//length/condition) up to the age of 6 months.
3 session course is from Β£65 (depending on breed size/hair type). Payable at time of booking.

If your puppy has matted or knotty hair under 6 months old, there will be no choice but to book a Full Groom to remove the mats or knots and length of hair. Please call my mobile to discuss.

Hello Pooch Parents! Another week and we're now into March with some sunny spells. Still quite chilly though. A round up of a small selection of willing show-offs who can sit or stay still for some nano-seconds. I've had quite a few last week who had ants in their pants so a Photo opportunity was not on the cards. I love Spring so lets hope we get some lovely sunny dry weather ahead. 🌼🌼🌼

Hello Pooch Parents! Another week has gone and we're racing into March already. Last week I had a selection of long standing regulars and some Newbies getting to know how things work with me. Whenever I have new dogs to groom, they are always given some extra time so I can assess their behaviour and adjust how I groom them so they are happy. I always use natural calming products if any dogs are a bit stressed with new surroundings and a new groomer. Even some of my regulars get the calming treatment if they need it. If your little dog needs to be pampered in March please call my mobile on 07733981476 anytime. Enjoy ✨

Hi everyone. It's been a really windy, rainy week, but that doesn't stop my gallery of gorgeous girls and boys having some star treatment and feeling fabulous! Some of these pooches brothers and sisters are missing as they refused to be in the limelight. But no problem. More room for the ones that stepped up. If you have a fluffy pooch whose undercoat is creating a bit of a tumbleweed effect in your home, or muddy, wet legs are causing your pooch to get knotty, please contact me anytime on 07733981476 and I can give your dog the star treatment they deserve. ✨✨✨✨

HAPPY VALENTINES ! The month of LOVE - for our dogs of course! Another week of chilly weather and a gallery of pooches are in the spotlight. Amongst this gang of starlets is a little puppy Shih Tzu who is showcasing the fact that puppies need to have the experience of a grooming environment from a very young age. It can take some time for puppies to get used to their face being handled and scissors used to shape their face. In fact as soon as your puppy has had their jabs, they are allowed to be groomed. So this would be from 3 months old. I offer a puppy experience for the first couple of sessions - as your puppy needs to get used to being handled, brushed, washed, blow-dried and having some fun! So this will not mean any hair being cut shorter, but a face, feet and bum tidied as an introduction (each puppy is assessed individually as these sessions may be too much for some). After that a full groom is required. Please enquire by texting 07733981476 if your pup needs to become a Pampered Puppy! Also in this group, is a very Timid, Nervous little dog who can bite if pushed too far. She is a good example of how I tailor your dog's groom to suit them. Breaking the groom up into small sections so they feel comfortable with noises, brushes, washing, clipping or scissors. It doesn't always work, depending on how timid or nervous they are, but I aim to try my best. Please call or text 07733981476 if you think your dog needs some TLC. 🐾

Hey everyone! So we have a selection of little dogs happy to be in front of the camera from last week. For anyone who doesn't know me, I offer a 121 bespoke service for your little dog. Every little dog who comes to me will be treated like they are my own. For new customers, I will discuss your dog in detail with you first to find out what they do or don't like, their grooming experiences and any problems I may be able to help with. I am always looking to help make your dog's groom as lovely as possible. This means I also assess your dog's behaviour and use holistic techniques to calm or reduce any stress. I work with you as the owner and give tips for maintenance in between grooms. Below are some regular customers I know very well. They are all very different personalities and I alter how I groom them to suit them. I also offer Mini Grooms which involve a double all-natural shampoo, blow-dry, nails trimmed, ears cleaned and tidying of their face, feet and bum to maintain coats in between full grooms. If you would like to discuss your little dog, please feel free to call or text my mobile any time on 07733981476. Bye for now 🐾

A big hello to a selection of my regular customers from last week. Lots of fluffy dogs needing a full groom to keep their hair knot-free, as well as dogs such as Pugs needing a de-shed. You wouldn't believe how much undercoat comes out. You could make a small dog out of it! Not forgetting silky breeds such as Caveliers, who also shed undercoat, groomed with the breed style of skirt and feathers. All were happy to have a piccy taken, but many others managed to evade the camera. 🐾
