All our British Shorthair kittens who went to forever homes with pedigree papers at age 13+ weeks, came microchipped automatically.
If you have adopted one of our kittens as a family BSH (8-13 weeks) and live in England this will become law for you from June 10th.
We like to think when we vet our little ones' families for life we have made sure their new families are responsible loving buddies and they will hopefully not forget we have explained it's essential their little loved ones are chipped.
Please avoid independent chippers, many are absolutely fine, but unscrupulous individuals may chip your bubby badly or with a non DEFRA compliant chip which won't appear on a traceable database leaving you open to prosecution and when found the chip won't link your kitten to you.
So please, please if you have forgotten, and it is easy to do so, take this as a friendly nudge, it's only ten to fifteen pounds and in our opinion should be done with their second vaccination at around 13-14 weeks to reduce the stress of an extra vets visit.
Without a microchip, if your loved one went for an unexpected ramble it could come down to expensive DNA testing to prove your fluffy friend is yours.
Please don't forget!
(If you have had a very significant change in financial circumstances, for example, an unexpected job loss or a serious loss of health meaning you are suddenly unable to work and provide evidence to prove this, we will look at your change of circumstances on an individual basis and are prepared to consider booking an appointment with your local vet and pay them for chipping your fur baby directly)
