You will find 8 essential tips to help your furry friends stay relaxed and comfortable during the fireworks.

Here is a shortened version of our advice:

1️⃣ 🐕🚶‍♀️ Walk your dog early to release some energy before fireworks start.

2️⃣ 🏠 Create a cosy indoor space where they can retreat.

3️⃣ 🐰🐹 Bring small outdoor pets, like rabbits, indoors if possible.

4️⃣ 🎵 Play soothing music to mask the noise.

5️⃣ 💆🏻‍♀️ Try a gentle massage to help them relax.

6️⃣ 🧘‍♂️ Stay calm—your pet picks up on your emotions and body language!

7️⃣ 😿 Respect their coping style—let them hide or snuggle if they need to.

8️⃣ 👩‍⚕️ Talk to your vet if they get too distressed.

Halloween is a fun time for everyone, but it’s important to keep our pets safe during all the festivities! Here are some tips to make sure your furry friends stay happy and healthy tonight:

🍬 Keep Sweets Out of Reach: Many treats, especially chocolate, are dangerous for pets. Make sure sweet bowls are in safe spots, and remind little trick-or-treaters not to share with their furry friends!

🎇 Mind the Decorations: Some Halloween decorations can be tempting to explore or chew on. Keep electrical cords, candles, and breakable decor out of reach.

👻 Costume Comfort: Don't force your pets to wear costumes! If however your pet enjoys dressing up, make sure costumes are comfortable, fit well, and don’t restrict movement, breathing, or vision.

🚪 Reduce Doorbell Stress: Constant doorbell rings can stress some pets. Set up a quiet room with their favourite toys and a cosy bed where they can feel safe if things get too lively.

🏡 Keep Pets Indoors: Loud noises and extra foot traffic can cause pets to bolt. Keep them indoors and ensure your pet’s ID tags and microchip info are up-to-date, just in case.

🐱❗️Today is the day, you must microchip your cats❗️🐱

From today, (10th June 2024), the new law means that cats must be microchipped before they reach the age of 20 weeks.

You must also ensure you register them on a DEFRA-approved microchipping database.

If you miss today's deadline, the new law states you'll have 21 days to have your cat microchipped, or you may face a fine of up to £500.

By microchipping their cats, owners can increase the likelihood that they will be reunited with their beloved pet if they go missing.
