I get asked how can hydrotherapy help dogs and where I go.
How can hydrotherapy help your dog?
The buoyancy and warmth of water can ease your dog's symptoms and help them feel comfortable before and after operations. It can also be used to reduce symptoms that are a natural result of getting older. Hydrotherapy is a stress-free way to relieve pain in their joints, muscles and limbs.
While hydrotherapy is mainly for dogs with conditions, it's great for dog fitness especially for dogs that do agility, flyball etc. Or weight loss.
What conditions can hydrotherapy help with?
* Arthritis / Joint injury and disease.
* Hip and elbow dysplasia/ Spinal injuries.
* Ligament problems/ Limb amputation.
Ebony started to go to Kernow Paws Rehabilitation in Camborne September 2021 when I found out she had luxating patella. She went every week to see if it would help and if we could avoid surgery. It was helping build muscle to keep knee cap in place. But one day she went really lame on her right leg, so decided it was best to do surgery on 1st December 2021 where she had both knees operated on but now has metal work in her right knee. As soon as she got signed off by the vet she was back to hydrotherapy in the pool which she loves. Ever since then she has gone every week for fitness as she was allowed to go back to do agility, we wouldn't of been able to do it without the help from Gemma at kernow paws. So I 100% recommend them, go have a look at their facebook, I made a little video of some sessions.
