A little photo dump of beloved Ghost: Look at his eyelashes!!! He is so cute that everybody wants to pet him, and so his pawrents have made him a really cool harness that says "do not pet" so he can enjoy his walks and personal space. In the meantime, they are also supporting his emotions by going back to school with and ! He is shining in our Excitable Dogs class 🥰 😍
Beautiful boi Casper with his mama today in class went through all exercises perfectly! What a lovely partnership, and they took so many of our courses 🥰 shared via who also took this sweet picture!
My dear friend Millie is enjoying her dear friend Monkey and her beautiful family in 🥰
I went to see gorgeous Merlin over the weekend and loved seeing the ongoing training that he and his humans, Jo and Laura, have built into their routine every day they go out. His keen and attentive nature could feel overwhelmed in a town like London, and it's important that he knows how to navigate or enjoy the environment when it all gets a but much. Beautiful Merlin is very happy indeed (and I also stole a cuddle or two from Arthur the cat!) 🥰🥰
Super Popo looked his snuffle mat last week, and having his mum and sister teaming up at his puppy class. Popo says that the right way to use a snuffle mat is to really dive into every single crevice of the fleece because that is were all the delicious crumbs can be sniffed and eaten. Thank you Popo for your tips 🐾🐶🐽
What a beautiful puppy is Rza?? 😍 With her dad Mark, walking is the best thing in the world. She taught us how to sniff properly and the importance of competing cues (or other areas of opportunity, in this case) in the environment, and how standing up makes the human less distracting than when he is sitting down holding the treats. Dad troubleshooted in a heartbeat, and she could concentrate on finding only those on the ground. Great job Rza and Mark 🥰 it's the little things!

Moss was so zen in class last week! I absolutely loved these pictures with his dad Keir, providing some shade from the sun and some gentle touch therapy, in a way! Did you know that there is a skin-to-brain neural circuit that responds to rewarding forms of social touch? It's so important to know how to touch our animals with their consent so that we are always a source of safety and trust for them. Here I see just that 🥰 Our in is with and is always ongoing 🥰 - Our one is starting soon! Watch this space for a venue!
Today, it was Panko's first day in class, and she did so well! She taught us that sniffing is SO nice, and so important for a dog. That it is such a pleasant experience, especially in quiet environments, or when surrounded by her safe humans... but it can just as well be a request for space, if a stranger is a tad too close to her. Beautiful job, Panko!
Today, Louis taught us the importance of learning a new behaviour in an environment that is not too distracting in order to support our dog's learning! Thank you, super Louis! 🥰
Olga today taught her sweet sisters how she likes to be handled by using a snuffle mat as a cue to opt-in for handling! Gorgeous people 🫶🏻
Beautiful Moss 🥰 and what a gorgeous name! A puppy who loves cuddles as well as some lively action, showing us all the meaning of living life to the fullest! 😎
Olga being loved, basically! 🥰 little Olga here is throwing off the "French riviera" cliché with a fabulously goth Vivienne Westwood umbrella and some glamorous stripes to inject colour back into this bright day. It's her first puppy class! With, of course, her loving humans: Sofia and 🥰🥰
Sweet Popo (Apollo) at his first puppy class 🥰 a bundle of joy!
The irresistible Bernie, a Bernese mountain puppy (the hand is for size comparison!) With humans who have a heart of gold - it was love at first sight, and he really boosted my confidence that my feet are all right after all. 🥰
My first client in Leigh on Sea since I moved is the beautiful Millie! She has just arrived from abroad and has landed on her feet with this caring and loving family, I am so happy for her. She is a quick learner, too! Go, Millie! 😍
Here is to my dear friend Nata and her humans, who are working hard and consistently at helping her be free from anxiety when she is left alone 🥰 I am in awe of this bunch 💯💯💯
🥰
Some backstage shots from our puppy class in London, featuring glorious little Sally with mum Jen and sister Margot (and brother at home Ralph!) 🏡 Sally is not only a sweetheart: intelligent, kind, curious and playful - she is also very loved. And we want to give a shout-out to the kids in this family for being such natural born trainers! Empowered and supported by Jen and family. 🥰
Bear said he had a lot of fun in the classes so far! Beautiful baby Bear. We are fans. 🥰🥰
Alfie has worked really hard today in our Fun Agility class and is now zonked for the day! Catching some beauty sleep (though he doesn't need it) 🥰

@priscillathealy has been doing all sorts of training with her little Buddy and I just love when she sends me videos of updates from what they have been up to! She trained this all by herself and it incorporates the Targeting behaviour (On the scale), the offered Sit from a very eager Buddy, some beautiful Eye contact, and a get off the scale behaviour with a promise of some scent work activated by the Find it cue. Great job Priscilla and Buddy! This is what "trust" looks like, positive reinforcement is reinforcing for the human, too! 🥰🥰🥰 . . #dogtrainingadvice #dogtrainer #dogtrainingtips #pomeranian #dogstagram #stalbans #buddy #ulidogtraining #friendlycreatures #positivereinforcement
We will run new Excitable Dogs classes with @friendly_creatures on Wednesdays in the new year! Yoowhoo! Meanwhile, here we have Vinnie, Gus, Chance, Sully and Zuzu practicing their newly acquired Clicker skills with their humans in their first Recall exercise 😀 next week we get the new barriers, too! @eurasier_roo Zuzu says hi!
#Repost @acanineaffinity Management and prevention of rehearsal of undesirable behaviors is training. I will die on this hill. Our landscapers showed up a bit earlier than expected this morning and were right outside of the windows blowing leaves, something that can cause some arousal and barking from both dogs. I was in the middle of some work so I grabbed my treat jar (one in most rooms) and began a simple strategy • Treat for loud sounds • Treat for noticing sounds • Treat for hanging out on the couch listening to sounds Simple management and I was able to keep working, dogs didn’t get to thrown off and no heavy planning required. We have done this before of course, but even in a new situation the dogs know they can count on me to help them through sticky situations. The beautiful thing about positive reinforcement is that even if it isn’t perfect the dogs will learn good things come in the face of a possibly scary situation and that’s important. Management is training, so the next time someone claims you can’t teach your dog anything by avoiding stress by not leaving them alone or avoiding dogs or people or other scary situations just know they are incorrect.
Zelda and mama Aileen through the jumps 🥰 thanks @telegraph_hill_dog_training for the video and the help!
“5 Tips for capturing enthusiastic recalls on hikes: 1️⃣ Figure out what your dog finds highly reinforcing. High value reinforcer examples: boiled chicken, pup patties, running, flirt pole, butt scratches, excitement!, etc. 2️⃣ Provide high value reinforcers after saying the recall cue. Recall cue examples: come, here, your dog’s name, pickle, the word you choose doesn’t matter as long as you’re consistent. 3️⃣ Focus on quality over quantity. Imagine if your significant other gave you a kiss while you were in the middle of a good book. Now imagine if they gave you a kiss every 5 seconds. It’s sweet and appreciated at first. But then it becomes a distraction/interruption from what you really want to be doing. If your dog loves to sniff and explore, recognize that they probably find interruptions to that activity aversive (even when they’re paid for heavily). So keep your recall cues to a minimum (1 every 10 minutes or so) to allow for plenty of exploration time. 4️⃣ Timing matters. Say the recall cue when your dog is already disengaging with a distraction (not while they’re most distracted). Notice when your dog is most likely to succeed and try it then! 5️⃣ Practice at home first! Build a strong history of reinforcement for their recall cue before trying to use it in public. Save these tips and give it a shot! Let us know how it goes. 🤩” Posted @withrepost • @clickstartdogacademy #recall #dogtraining #dogtrainingtips #dogtrainingadvice #dogtrainer #clickertraining #positivereinforcement #come #dogsofinstagram #dogstagram #dogsonadventures #dogsonthetrails #dogsonhikes #hikingwithdogs #longline
“Thanks to @ulidogtraining for all the recall variations. I am 99% successful if there is 0% distraction 😂😂 #labradorretriever #labrador #lablove #labradorlove Posted @withrepost • @tales_of_taco_thelab “

I had so much fun creating this video with my kitties for the new training channel that I made for italian friends that ask me training related questions! 🥰💥🐾 it’s called @micinimozzichini 🤓 I think you can understand it in English too! Can you??
I have been missing Mozzie so much I can’t even think about what happened, my heart literally aches and twists. I am so grateful for these two babies that have entered my life, I feel so lucky that it’s going so smoothly, these two beautiful, loving little beings. We have years of learning more about each other and making Trust our number one priority… The future is ahead of us and they are already helping me so much without even knowing how much. “Love lasts longer, have no fear.” ❤️🥹
Legend Ken Ramirez ❤️ Posted @withrepost • @ken_ramirez_kpct Day 2 of Oct 2022 Dive Deep course. Allowed the class to watch an early morning training session with our two new llamas (Paloma and Luna). They just arrived on Saturday and have had no previous positive interactions with people. I am using a "shy and skittish animal" training protocol. My first goal is to get the animals to approach and eat - giving them as much distance as they need. In the past three days I've moved very close to their feeding station. And today I took the step of offering food from my hand. I'm so pleased with their progress. #ranchkpct #llamas #rescuellamas #positivereinforcement #positivereinforcementtraining
"Dogs change our lives" is a big understatement! I met my old dog Ulisse (Uli, the ginger beauty here) in Rome. He taught me all I know. Our first experience with training was unfortunate and so I set out to look for more existing points of views regarding the ways to train dogs. I started with a book, then two, then a course, then two... Then suddenly I lost count! I then started assisting @friendly_creatures and followed in their training classes and behaviour consultations. I now work for them as well as for my company: I have wonderful, inspiring colleagues and we offer classes in the London area. I moved to Hertfordshire and so i am offering classes over here too. Uli is my source of inspiration and my best teacher, and so are my mentors and my clients. Last, but unequivocally not least: so are their dogs.
