It was a pleasure to meet and work with these two and their families this weekend.
The Collie type is a rescue who is learning to settle into her new home.
The Doberman has decided that he isn't keen on small humans !!

Two very different breeds with very different needs.

Although dogs are dogs and training follows scientific methods it is also important to know and understand your breed (or 2/3 breeds if a mix), some breeds are genetically predisposed to some behaviour traits and it is important to understand this and work with your dog.

If you are thinking of getting a new dog or puppy make sure you do your homework and understand the breed and what they were bred to do :-)

Did you know that in my role as a Kids Around Dogs Member I can assess and certify SCHOOL DOGS :-)

Many schools have dogs and it can be a fantastic addition to the learning environment. It is important however to get it right and insurers will often ask for the dogs to be assessed.

If you have your own school dog and need an assessment or would like some more information please do get in touch.

It was a doodle day today although I didn't get many pics !!

Caught up with a lovely full of beans Labradoodle and starting teaching her that staying on her place is much more valuable than jumping on the counters 🐶

Then a cheeky puppy cockerpoo who loves food ...perfect 😋
We started lots of fun recall games and strategies to stop his morning barking !! Looking forward to next time 🥰

Met this gorgeous lot today.

Cavalier needs some support being on his own. His delightful older Staffie brother tries to help him 🤗
And the stunning Lab needs some recall training but he is a smart cookie so I think he will smash it 💪

I have been asked so many times if I will move in with new puppy clients and as tempting as that is, it is a step too far 🤣

I am however now offering a service where I will train new puppies for you. This will still be a partnership as skills will need to be transferred but if you are busy , finding training challenging or just want that added support, this could be for you.
