As the temperature begins to drop, and nights are getting colder, it is advised to keep a close eye on outdoor pets! When temperature starts to reach freezing, rabbits should be moved to indoors if possible. Same applies to guinea pigs when temperatures are below 15 C. Remember, that rabbits and guinea pigs still need plenty of room and enrichments to exercise daily. If it is not possible to provide them with indoor accommodation, they should be provided with extra bedding, and insulation around hutches.

‼ALERT UK CAT OWNERS‼

If your cat is currently being fed ANY of the food mentioned in the government article below please stop feeding it IMMEDIATELY and change to an alternative brand for the time being.

It has been recalled as a precaution as there may be a link to a lethal illness which has resulted in the death of several cats.

The cause is still being investigated at present, but it is not worth the risk.

As an alternative to feed in the meantime, the brands Hills, Royal Canin, Purina, Eukanuba and Iams all undergo extensive feeding trials before they are put on the shelves.

If your cat, whether fed the affected brands or not, becomes lethargic, pale or yellow on its gums or inner ear flaps, or develops a spotted rash or any bruising that you can see, please schedule an urgent appointment with your vet, who will assess and determine if a blood test is required to rule out this condition or check for any other conditions that may cause these signs.

A message for one and all

If you see me in your garden, please put out on a low dish some food (raw unsalted meat, minced meat;

I also like cat food but not the fish type, just straight out of a tin is great, and definitely some water.

Do not give me milk - it causes stomach problems and I may die of dehydration. But I am naive, and if I see milk, I drink.
Do not give me milk.

Do not use insecticides or traps.
I am harmless and I help in your garden because I feed on insects that attack your plants and vegetables.

My species is disappearing,
PLEASE help me stay alive.
