I'll be at Marmadukes Of Mevagissey on Saturday for a FREE clinic.
Drop in take a look around and ask me any questions about your pooches behaviour, or welfare questions like; how long should I walk my dog for? Does this harness fit them well? What should I feed? When should I neuter if at all? Impartial Flea/tick/worm/vacc advice.
You don't need to bring your dog in, especially if they are reactive or nervous, but a video would help.
Please be patient on the day as it's a drop in clinic, no appointment needed but there may be a wait if popular!

Info on puppy and agility classes, have had some people asking if it's stopping in the summer hols - nope 😜 we carry on! It's the booking site that shows 2months in advance and then allows you to book one month in advance. Helps us with organising and cash flow 🙂 if having to postpone for weather etc... and makes it fair for everyone to book on. 🐾🎉💗
🐾 Puppy Socialisation - What Do We Mean? 🐾 When your little bundle of fluff enters the world they are completely blind and deaf, totally reliant on mum. They find her by scent and heat. Around 10days they start to open thier eyes but can't see very well, and then finally hearing starts to function at 3wks. The world is very small for them even at this stage. If you have a good breeder, they will be starting the socialisation process for you - gradually showing the pups more of the world they are going to be living in before you bring them home at 8-10wks. ✨What we are looking for when we 'socailise' a pup is neutrality. ✨ We want to build confidence in new things your pup is coming across, encouraging exploration and supporting them if needed. Think of all the things that pup wouldn't have seen, heard, smelt before when they were with their mum and littermates. Including potentially scary things like motorbikes, trucks, other dogs and people. We are aiming to build resilience and optimism in our young dogs. We are not looking to make a super strong reaction either way (good or bad) - dogs included. Our puppy classes start off with a little bit of play, but the majority of the class we are ignoring the other dogs, and working with the owners to build a good foundation of trust and teamwork with the human. A well socialised pup, as an adult, will be able to go to a cafe and chill whilst people, dogs, traffic and whatever else goes by. Here's a sped up video of our middle section of puppy class, using the novel equipment to build confidence, resilience, body awareness skills, sounds, movement, and most importantly building that bond with owner strong over other distractions through teamwork exercises. I myself have a passion for behaviour having been awarded a BSc Hons degree in Behaviour and Welfare from Plymouth university in 2011. I run hoopers and agility classes on a Monday evening with Cornwall Agility Club, puppy and dog training classes on Friday evenings, and one to one sessions in-between. I also volunteer and train pet dogs to become assistance dogs with Dog Aid.
