Today we’re celebrating the incredible people who give their time, skills and hearts to RSPCA Cornwall. Our volunteers are the reason so many animals get a second chance. From dog walkers and cat cuddlers to reception helpers, fosterers and fundraisers, every one of you makes a huge difference.

You turn scared animals into confident ones.
You turn loneliness into love.
You turn “no chance” into “new beginning.”

We truly couldn’t do what we do without you.

What a super-duper festive time we had at our Santa Paws Trail, held at the beautiful Silverbow Country Park! 🎄🐾✨

A huge thank you to Santa for squeezing us into his busy pre-Christmas schedule and spreading so much joy by meeting all of you!

Another big thank you to Silverbow Country Park for making the whole event feel so magical and beautifully festive.
And of course, thank you to Millie's for keeping everyone warm with coffee and sweet treats, and to Glenn’s Fish and Chips for the delicious hot food that kept us all going!

🎤 MEET NEEKO & ALASKA – THE HUSKY DOUBLE ACT YOU DIDN’T KNOW YOU NEEDED 🎤
Also known as: The Flufffather (Neeko) and his partner in crime Daughter of Floof (Alaska).

If you’ve ever thought to yourself, “My life needs more zoomies, more fluff and a bit of dramatic husky commentary,” then congratulations. Your perfect duo has arrived.

Neeko and Alaska are a father and daughter team with years of experience in:
⭐ Synchronised howling
⭐ Looking majestic for no reason
⭐ Pretending they don’t shed (they do, a lot)
⭐ Running zoomies like Olympians
⭐ Forming an unstoppable cuddle squad

They may be a bit chatty in the kennels (classic husky behaviour), but once they’re out on walks they relax beautifully and show off their excellent manners. They love a good run in the paddock followed by some gentle grooming to keep their fluff in tip top shape.

They walk well on the lead with the occasional “ooh what’s that let me just…” tug, but nothing someone husky-savvy couldn’t handle. With the right slow introductions, they could even live with another calm dog.

These two are looking for a peaceful, loving home with humans who appreciate dramatic storytelling, cloud like coats and a duo who have been side by side their whole lives and plan to keep it that way.

If you’ve got space in your home and heart for double the fluff, double the charm and double the entertainment, Neeko and Alaska would love to meet you.

Are you passionate about canine welfare and behaviour?
RSPCA Cornwall is looking for a dedicated Animal Centre Behaviourist to join our team full-time.
In this role, you will:
✨ Assess and support dogs with complex behavioural needs
✨ Create and deliver behaviour modification and enrichment plans
✨ Mentor staff and volunteers on best practice
✨ Deliver training classes & 1:1 support to the public
✨ Play a vital role in helping our dogs find happy forever homes
📍 Location: RSPCA Cornwall Branch

About You:
🎓 Qualified in Animal Behaviour/Welfare (or related field)
🐶 Experienced in working with dogs with complex behavioural needs

Meet Lady, a 5 year old German Shepherd. Lady may take a little time to settle and trust new people, but once she feels safe, she comes round beautifully and rewards you with the biggest cuddles and affection. She is a very intelligent dog who will thrive with someone who can keep her mind and body busy. Lady is full of potential and will really benefit from one-on-one training, confidence building and plenty of positive interactions.

She can be unsure around other dogs at first and may be vocal, but with gentle guidance and reward-based training, she may be able to make some doggy friends in time. Lady absolutely loves her food, which will make ongoing training fun and rewarding for both of you.

As a big, strong girl, she will need an owner who is physically capable and confident handling her. Lady would prefer to be the only pet in the home so she can enjoy all the attention she deserves. Due to her initial nervousness and strength, she would be best suited to a home with older children if any.

Lady is full of fun once she knows you and has so much love to give. She is just waiting for the right person to help her grow and to enjoy the world with her.

We’re Always Open – Come and Talk Dogs With Us! 🐶✨

The season’s getting sparkly, the days are getting shorter and our kennels are still full of lovely dogs waiting for their chance at a forever home. So if you’re curious about who’s here or want to learn more about adoption or fostering, come on in for a chat. We’ll even pop the kettle on. ☕💙

You can’t walk around the kennels themselves (the dogs said it’s a firm “no” for their stress levels), but we can fill you in on who’s available, who’s just arrived and who’s secretly a cuddle bug in disguise.

Prefer to ring first? Absolutely. Not every dog is on the website, so you might hear about someone extra special.

And just so we’re clear…
Dogs aren’t Christmas gifts.
But some of our long-stay pups don’t care what season it is. They’ve waited long enough and would love a forever home whenever the right person comes along.
