What a day! It took me 45 minutes to get to my first call this morning, it would usually take me 10 minutes, 15 on a bad day π« this pushed me back an hour and 30 minutes.
Luckily I have amazing clients and the guys that where at home today and messaged to say its ok to leave their dogs today...life savers. Thank you so so much. I grabbed an hour back from that, so genuinely, thank you β€οΈ
Now, the main roads weren't all too bad but those side roads and lil cul de sacs saw me fearing for dear life today π€£ we've two nights of really hard freeze coming, -4 tomorrow night and -5 Thursday night.
I will endeavour to get to all my guys. Please just bare with me this week. My main concern is safety of your dogs in the vehical and secondly, my own. That slush on the side roads is gunna freeze again tonight.
On the plus....highs of 9 next week π₯³π₯³ and it'll soon be spring. π³
Please take care of you're out and about. Loads of black ice about and the pavements are super slippy.

Muddy paws and waggy tails π
Hey guys, sorry for the lack of content. Ill do a big photo upload at the end of the week.
Thank goodness the rain stayed off today π
As we know, Autumn is here. Every where is a mud bath, I am towel drying best I can but I'm not a miracle worker. I do apologise.
All walks are enrichment focused, giving your dog the best mental stimulation and exercise possible. Pavement walking is boring. Woodlands are where the magic happens. β€οΈ For all those extra special sniffs.
Blink and the weekend has gone.....with a real feel of autumn in the air today, my second favourite season to walk in π₯° there's just something about that damp woodland smell in a morning.
Now the weather is changing, we are back to Muddy terrain, we all know im a woodland wanderer. As per, ill try to dry them off best I can but if your dog nose dives into Mud at 100mph (Max) I can't work miracles π€£ just know, they're living their best lives.
New week, let's get it ππ«Ά

Should we have a feel good story?
I got a message last year, I asking if I'd walk 3 bull breeds from the same household, another local dog walker said insurance doesn't cover bull breeds....that's a lie!
She warned me Sasha was really nervous out on walks and really reactive with others dogs and pulled like a trooper....she wasn't wrong.
Sash wouldn't toilet on a walk, completely on high alert as soon as we went out the door, didn't enjoy her walks, wouldn't take treats...and attention....what attention?
I got a message a few weeks ago off Sasha' owner saying she couldn't believe the difference in Sash since I'd took her on, she's so much calmer at home too.
So what have we improved?
Sasha now toilets on walks, she takes treats, her recall is fab, her reactivity....some days none existent, some days...a rabid dog but handling the situation is the key and she calms alot quicker, I can spot Sash getting anxious straight away, she lip licks instantly and her body tenses, tail rigid, posture forward and wide eyed, today though zero reactivity and I am super proud of her!
So what do I do, you ask? Calmly does it, no matter your situation, if you're anxious, your dog will be, keep that tone of voice soft, try not to get stressed.
Get those feel good endorphins going, play games, reward. Praise, if your dog knows she's a good dog, she will aim to please.
Don't ever be afraid of asking someone else to control their dog in a public place, ever!! You are your dogs voice.
If you're going to use a dog walker, find a good one, qualified and insured....but most of all, someone who understands K9 behaviour and can adapt to your dogs needs.
The dog walking market is saturated now with unfortunately not that many having a scooby doo. Vet them, ask them loads of questions. You'll know a good one at your meet and greet prior to walks commencing.
Why did I become a dog walker? This right here. π there was a dog on the other side of the fence, see how she's li
