🌟DOG OF THE MONTH FOR MARCH🌟

❤ PELE ❤

PELE and his two brothers - Peter and Paul - arrived with us on the 27th January 2025.

All boys, just 18 months old, are lovely, very friendly and full of enthusiasm. They all enjoy their walks and don't react to other breeds of dog they meet when out and about.

Already PELE and his brothers have charmed our volunteer walkers and PELE has been described by one of them as 'such a love'.

As PELE and his brothers are all still young dogs they are full of energy and prospective adopters need to bear this in mind. Full details on our homing requirements, along with an application form can be found on this link:

Lisa Nandy Mp Wigan - come and have a look around the local Greyhound Rescues and see the "joy" this industry (its not a sport!) brings!!!!

🌟FRIDAY FEATURE🌟

❤BAMBI❤

Stunning dark fawn girl BAMBI joined us on the 16th January 2025.

She has settled in well and seems a confident, friendly girl. She has already spent time in our enrichment (home from home) room and enjoyed settling down to watch TV!

Described by Siobhan as having a 'beautiful temperament' BAMBI could live with another large breed dog. We are looking for a home for BAMBI with an adopter who has some experience of owning a dog, not necessarily a greyhound.

🌟FRIDAY FEATURE🌟

❤CASPER❤

Three and a half year old CASPER joined us on the 10th January 2025.

Casper is a big and very friendly lad who soon settled into our kennels. He's still getting used to seeing other breeds of dog and the outside world and is having many new experiences.

He is a confident boy however, and has charmed our walking volunteers already.🥰

We think CASPER would be happy to live in a home with a female greyhound or would be equally happy living on his own. We're looking for adopters with some experience of owning a dog, not necessarily a greyhound, for him.

🌟NEW ARRIVAL🌟

We've another new arrival to introduce to you today, please meet BAMBI ❤

BAMBI arrived with us on the 16th January and is settling in well. She seems a confident girl and has already enjoyed spending some time watching TV in our enrichment (home from home) room. Her photo here was taken on a rather windy day and she had difficulty controlling her ears.😂

Last week we had two new arrivals - ANGEL and CASPER - and today we're sharing a photo of CASPER.
This handsome lad is 3.5 years old and, although everything is new to him, is settling in well at kennels and charming our volunteers already.😍

This sweet girl is 3.5 years old and, although everything is new to her, is settling in well at kennels.

She's currently under assessment so we will be in a position to let you know more about her in a week or so, but for now welcome to Makants ANGEL! 😍

🌟FRIDAY FEATURE - DOLLY🌟

Well, 'Hello Dolly'! 😍

Three year old DOLLY joined us on the 12th December 2024.

An affectionate, friendly girl who is always happy to see our volunteers greeting them with a waggy tail, DOLLY walks well on the lead and enjoys the company of the other greyhounds. She is slowly getting used to other breeds of dog she meets on her walks and walks well.

Dainty DOLLY has already lived in a home for a short while before she came to us for rehoming. Whilst DOLLY is still settling with us we do feel she will continue to need some reassurance. Anyone interested in adopting DOLLY would need to be around at home the majority of the time, especially during the settling in period.
