ens make every day a joy for us! We are entirely self-funded, and receive no aid from the government or anyone else. We raise all our own money with fundraising events

Kitten Karers works very hard every day to help as many animals as we can. Each day we are asked to help pets from homes where the owners can no longer care for them for many different reasons. We have a fantastic team of friendly staff with years of knowledge and experience who do all they can to make a stay at Kitten Karers as comfortable as possible for every animal. We offer a friendly service with continued help and support with any animal you adopt. All the staff are experienced and have been hand-picked to join the team because of their true love for animals, all carrying a passion and skill in different areas. Without the help of volunteers who help us every day we simply could not continue. We have a strong team of regular volunteers who give up their free time to help the animals. If you would like to become a volunteer and help in any way please see the volunteer page. Thank you for reading and we hope to meet you soon.

Update. So i think we are now flea free. Omg . Even after treatment. The fleas were jumping all over me yesterday. In seconds i had at least 20 all over my legs . As you can see by the water bowl .they were everywhere. Had to spray the whole foster room also . This has been the worst case of flea infestation i have ever seen on poor babies. Shame on the ex owners who had these babies in there home 4 months and by the amount of fleas the poor babies have had fleas there whole lives.

Anyway. Homer.bart.maggie and marg x are doing good.
They are eating constantly. Just these 4 . 12 pouches a day plus dry.
So if anyone can get is wet and dry KITTEN FOOD. I would appreciate it guys ### 20 markfield crescent WA119LD. Or donation bins in morrisons boundary Road and Tesco haydock and St helens. Also Jollyes. And Kitty Angel Cat Hotel Newton

Evening guys
So today i took our new o a ps. Jasmine and tulip to our vets .
These girls had been abandoned and had been living under a bush in Liverpool. A lovely young man saved them and was looking after them for a bit . But both were in terrible condition and needed a lot of help . So a rescue was needed that could help them
With vet treatment ect.
I collected them on Saturday.

So today our vets have started treatment
Jasmine. Was confirmed today that she has a very serious heart murmur. They think grade 6
She also has serious dental problems.
Jasmine has had blood test today to show how her heart is functioning. And will likely be on life long heart medication. She will also under go a scan.
She is booked in next Monday for her dental treatment. As with any operation there is always a risk. But with a heart problem the risk is greater. But its a risk we have to take as she is in chronic pain with her rotten and broken teeth

Tulip also has severe dental issues and is also booked in for her dental on monday
She has had all her nails clipped today as they were very long . And one had already ingrown into her pad and been removed . Her wound has been treated today at our vets .

Both are seriously under weight. But have been gaining weight whilst the young man stevie was looking after them . So thats good .

Stevie has set up a go fund me and all that money will be paid directly to our vets . Towards there care.

This will cover Jasmines heart treatment
There dentals will be around £600

Tinkerbell update.
So beautiful tinks . Had her op yesterday. They kept her in over night. Jacquie collected her this afternoon and she is now back with me where she will stay for the next couple months to recover.
The vets said its one of the worst breaks in 2 places they have seen and her pelvic bone.
She has had plates and pins and hopefully will make a full recovery. But there is a chance she will always have a limp but we will see how it heals
And yay she can wee .
I am going to be going through a lot of puppy pads the next couple weeks she is on cage rest. So any donation of puppy pad very appreciated guys

Tinkerbell update. So our vets have done the x rays . Tinks has a severe broken hip . Actually part of her hip has broken off . She has to have specialist surgery and a plate put in the hip .
As this has to be orthopaedic surgery done by a specialist. She has to go to Wallace to have the surgery. Which is scheduled for Thursday. As the swelling needs to go down first. She is on strong pain relief and strict cage rest. I have kept tinks ex owner informed who are very upset. But have done exactly what was right by Tinkerbell. As she wouldn't be able to get the rest and recovery. Being a busy household and 2 other cats that dont get on with Tinkerbell. Surrendering her to kk . Was very hard for them but they just want her better

The estimated cost of Tinkerbells vet care and surgery is £2000 .

We really need everyones help on this.
Tinkerbell has a long road to recovery. But she will get there . Xx

Hi guys. This is tinkerbell. Sadly tinks was hit by a car earlier. The driver left her at the side of the road . A lovely young girl. Helped her and called us in . Tinkerbell is microchipped and i personally went to see the owner. They are lovely people so please no negative comments. Sadly they can not afford vet treatment and it does appear tinkerbells back leg is broken.
The owners are very upset and only want what is best for tinkerbell. Tinkerbell has been signed over to kk . As they know we and you guys will help her . She is on pain medication this evening and will have x rays in the morning to determine if the leg can be saved

So my crazy cat folk. Lets pull out all the stops for tinkerbell. Her vet bill will be a big one . But she is beautiful and deserves the chance.

Any donation is huge to tinkerbell. Please help

💥 What to do if you find a cat 💥
Do you think a cat is a stray or do you have a cat visiting you? (This advice is for healthy looking adult cats in a safe area)

We are in a cat crisis. There are lots of stray, abandoned and missing cats who need help. However there are also lots of cats who have good homes but are cheeky, greedy and inquisitive so may seem homeless or lost. Therefore if you come across a healthy adult cat in a safe area it's important not remove them but instead check if the cat is owned before you help them. (Just to note lots of healthy looking cats can be missing or strays) One of our cats was missing 8 months and was found overweight looking very healthy so there is no harm in following the advice below to double check if a cat has a home or needs help.

To see if a cat is owned you can :

🐾 Knock on doors, speak to people in the local area see if they have information on the cat.

🐾Collar the cat - You can buy a fast release collar and write your number on it to check if the cat goes home. Alternatively you can make a collar out of paper, write your phone number on it then attach it to the cat with a little bit of cellotape. Don't cellotape fully as it needs to be able to rip off if the cat gets caught. - for this be sure not to use a buckle or elastic or flea collar as they are dangerous.

🐾 Put a poster up in the local area with a description or picture of the cat asking if they have a home or if anyone knows any info about the cat.

🐾 Post the cat as found on Facebook. Also share them on your profile and local pet groups.

🐾 You can post the cat in your local area on the Nextdoor app.

🐾You can also post them on websites suchs as pets located, animal search UK, pets reunited, dogs lost.

🐾 Get the cat scanned for a chip. You can do this via a mobile scanner who will come to you or by taking the cat yourself to your local vets .

To get a mobile scanner to you contact your local rescue or create a post in these Facebook groups asking for a microchip scanner in your area.

✨It's free to take a cat to be scanned at the vets but we would only advise this if you had a secure carrier and can't get a mobile scanner. (We dont advise you to leave healthy cats at the vets only to get them scanned then return them to area found) Many vets have to put stray cats to sleep if they can't find a rescue or owner and having no chip doesn't mean a cat isnt owned.

🐾 You can call your local vets and rescue to ask if they know any similar missing cats and maybe send them a photo to check.

🐾 Whilst looking for owners if you think the cat has no shelter you can buy them a cat shelter. (We like the mr snugs cat shelters) or even make them one. A hole cut in plastic storage tub or ploysterene box filled with straw make good shelters.

Please ensure you do all of these steps to find a cat's owners. Not everyone is on Facebook and not every cat is chipped. (as much as we wish they were) .

💥If the cat is sick, injured, pregnant, had kittens or is in a dangerous place then you will need to take a different course of action - contact your local vets or rescue or the Rspca 💥....
