The next intake for this class will be Monday 8th January at 6pm. Make sure to book your space soon at www.krrstraining.com/book-now
Rex has been coming to us for a while now and throughout all his training his biggest hurdle is his anxiety and his ability to over think absolutely everything!
We have been doing agility for a couple of months now and while he now loves the jumps and tunnels the contact equipment has remained a challenge that we keep chipping away at...
This week he put his big boy pants on π and went along the dog walk π
Rex we are so incredibly proud of you!
Taffy remembered how fun the A Frame is and couldnt keep off it!
Ralfie had his first agility session this week!
Jarvis on his second agility session
Cocker Spaniel Jarvis had his very first agility session today and in just 15 minutes he was flying around the course!

Some of you are aware that my Grans' health and mobility have declined quickly over the past 6 months. She is now needing a wheelchair to get out of the home. One of the few things she regularly asks about is the dogs π₯°
Unfortunately for many dogs, it's not an easy task to "just walk by the wheelchair." There are noises they make that we cant hear, the wheels that get very close to their paws, the lead that catches on the wheels every now and again, the person sitting in the chair, the noises they make, the movement of the chair and the person, the split attention from the handler. In reality, it is a very different task to lead walking.
Because of Grans' frequent questions about them, we have decided it would be nice for her to go out with one of the dogs every now and again, so we've been practising with the wheelchair! I've looked like a crazy lady walking around with the empty wheelchair but it is definitely paying off.
Whether it's a wheelchair, a pram, or anything else new, we can help you prepare. If you know a new situation is on the horizon for your dog, why not create a similar scenario to help understand how your dog will react and what you can do to help them ?

Multi Dog Households ...lets bust some myths ...
Myth 1 : multiple bitches together will fight
Myth 2 : multiple males together will fight
Myth 3 : litter mates are guaranteed to grow up well together
There is absolutely no way anyone can predict this, and there definitely isnt a blanket rule. Just because Peter and Paul fought doesnt mean Andrew and John will fight π
There will always be genetic influences but there are also environmental influences and nurture influences.
In any species, if there are multiple occupants of a home there will inevitably be spats - think about your home ....do you all agree on everything all the time? Of course you dont! The world would be a boring place if you did. Dogs are just the same.
It is not as black and white as you can have two males or two females. If you put the work in, teach them to exist around each other and make sure they have their own time and space there is no reason why it cant work.
All of these dogs live in multi-dog households, all of them happily. Can you tell which are male-male, female-male, female-female, mother-son or siblings ?
Oakley came to see us a month ago for her behaviour around other dogs. She would bark and scream at other dogs while dancing on her back feet and spinning..even from 200m away. Initially we looked at her diet and changed a couple of things. We have spent a few sessions teaching her to redirect her focus back to her owner and have built up her tolerance. Today we celebrated massive steps ππ
