Hi guys ππ½ββοΈ Been very hectic recently but exciting things to come! limited spaces available for Puppy 121 sessions, please message me for more info! In the mean time here is a video of Aria doing abit of training. We are working on our head rest aswell as a release cue to let her know once the behaviour we are working on is over.
A question for some of my clients, which of the 3Ds are we working on here?
Love this video that has been sent in π I love keeping up to date with my clients and getting sent this video of Bellas first time off lead after her owner has felt confident enough to do so after our training is amazing! Keep up the great work guys π€
This weekend we took our flyball team to Epworth to compete in our first competition of the year! We had 3 brand new dogs in the lanes, Bronte the Springer (4th dog) who's confidence built up throughout the day! Storm and Ted came (not on video) to gain some ring experience. Marvel and Ralf the poodles ran all day long preforming amazingly for only their 2nd ever competition! And Minnie the collie who has only done a few competitions before didn't fault all day π for this new line up of dogs with very little experience we were all very proud to bring home a 3rd place rosset with only 2 points difference too 1st place!!! Looking forward for the rest of the year competing with this wonderful lot β€

Capturing!
There are a few ways of teaching your pooches different tricks and behaviours! If you have been to one of my training session you would of heard me speak about Luring and shaping quite alot! Another way and a really effective way is to capture the behaviour! Everytime they offer the desired behaviour throughout their day. Use their marker Cue and reinforce the behaviour with a treat or toy! After a few repetitions over your day (week or longer!) your dog will start to associate that behaviour with positive things to follow and start to offer it even more! So what if your 12 week old puppy has had the zoomies all day, running you around the house! They get tired and then go to lay down in their bed! Popping a treat on their bed to capture that little peace in the moment everytime they do it will reinforce it and start to increase the chances they will do it again and again!
Fun fact! I taught Titan to sneeze on cue when he was 8 months old, purely by using the method of capturing!

Floss is back for her second 121 sessions π She's such a clever little puppy picking things up really quickly! We introduced a few focus games last session and her mum and dad have worked hard and it's definitely paying off π₯³
Today we worked on..
πΎ Middle
πΎ Stay with duration and distraction
πΎ Impulse control
πΎ Loose Lead Walking
πΎ Touched on settle
πΎ Starting our emergency Stop
Floss yet again smashed everything put in front of her! She can get a little nervous when she sees new people and dogs on a walk so we talked through how to help her get through it and she done very wellβ€
Great job guys and looking forward to next time π

How do you play with your dog?πΆ
Playing is more than just throwing a ball in the park for your dog everyday! It's about engaging and having fun WITH your dog!
Having fun whilst playing will vary between dogs, for example my guys favourite part of play is completely different from each other.
Titan loves stalking, so when we get a tug toy out we do abit of Eye stalking, where I hold it up high moving it slowly so he can watch and stalk, changing it up and adding a few fast movements in before he gets it.π€©
Aria loves the 'kill' and 'disect' (π
π) part of play! She loves when she wins her teddy's and gets to shake them about and take every bit of stuffing out!
Marvels favourite part of play is the chase! He loves running about trying to catch up to the tug and sometimes he purposely misses just so he can chase some more π€£
So when you next play with your dog, take a look and see what actually is their favourite part and maybe spend more time on that π€
Here we have Barney the staffie enjoying his flyball training with me, ( @northern_bytes_flyballteam ) playing with his @tugenuff sheepskin bungee! Like most bully breeds, Barney really enjoys the tug part π
There's a toy for all types of play at Tug-e-Nuff!! Use Code TITAN for a discount and if your struggling to pick the perfect toy give me a shout!

Happy Saturday guys!!!
Just wanted to give a progress video of Arias latest trickπ₯°
Aria is learning how to 'say yes' by nodding her head up and down! We are now fading the target out and marking the stretch of her neck as she looks up!
She has progressed so quickly and can't wait to see the end result π
Have a lovely day guys!

Find it!
It's important to let your dog use their nose! Even if they are not spaniel π€ͺ
Snuffle matts and other enrichment toys are great items you can buy for your pooches! Nothing beats using the environment around you! All you need it your dogs favourite toy/food and some long grass/pile of twigs! And of course your dog πΆ
Hide the treat/toy in the grass whilst your dog is in a Stay (or as they are not looking!) And ask them to 'find it', give them a little point in the right direction and let their nose do the rest!
This was Lennys second attempt today, he absolutely loved it π

Bonnie making good choices, no matter how much she wanted to go chase the birds she stayed close and was willing to engage with the Frisbee π
It would of been easy for me to correct her but letting her make this decision herself was much more beneficial, meaning if she chose to stay with me, good stuff happens!π€
It's always important to let your dogs make choices! Freedom of choice helps make a dog happier! They become more confident and it will also help you build a bond as they trust you to let them make the right decision β€
Do you let your dog make their own choices?

Marvel Working on his 'Nose Touch' π€₯β€
Why do we teach a nose touch? It's a nice easy cue for your pooches to learn, expecially if you are new to dog training!
Is your new puppy teething and likes to nibble on your hands? Why not ask for an alternative behaviour like a Hand Touch, showing them the appropriate way to interact instead of with their teeth's!
Have you got a nervous dog, why not ask for a hand Touch to give them something else to focus on whilst out and about!
If you are into trick training like me, there are so many cute tricks you can teach with the foundation of a simple nose Touch!
Here you see Marvel touching a target, this will eventually allow me to place it in different areas, like a cupboard door for him to 'touch' and close π₯°

Was very excited to see all your pooches this week but Covid had other ideas! Luckily much better now so should be out and about by next week! Tons of mental enrichment and training for my guys over the passed few days to make sure they are happy whilst I isolate, and they have been amazing, proven that mental enrichment is very, if not, more important than physical stimulation! This is Marvels full clicker training session this evening, including play at the end, and we do this at least 3 times day working on different things (sometimes we solely focus in 1 new tricks) including some puzzle game time. Then he sleeps for the rest of the day π Aria and Titan have also been doing bits like this which I will post over the next few days too! Also the audio of the video is slightly delayed so looks like I'm marking and cueing at the wrong times π€£ (quick note to add : Physical excersise is still very important for your dogs to have daily but, cases like this is unavoidable, also my dogs have been taught if we are not doing anything to go and lay down in their beds, so it's a pre-taught behaviour we have worked hard on since they where puppies βΊοΈ)
