Soooooo many enquiries for "𝑢𝑟𝑔𝑒𝑛𝑡" grooming and whilst I absolutely hate to disappoint, I am currently ‼️𝗙𝗨𝗟𝗟𝗬 𝗕𝗢𝗢𝗞𝗘𝗗‼️ with my next (& very few) appointments left for July and now booking into August/September!

Please remember to always, plan ahead and ‼️𝗕𝗢𝗢𝗞 𝗜𝗡 𝗔𝗗𝗩𝗔𝗡𝗖𝗘‼️.

This also includes if you're planning on welcoming a new pup/dog to your family - I've also received a high number of "first groom" enquiries with dogs who have had either one groomer visit (or none) at 6-10months old 🫣

So, in case you were passing the Salon today and was wondering who was behind all the vocals - I'd like you to meet singing sensation 'Waffle' - Waffle likes to 'sing the song of his people' during his visit, specifically whilst being dryed..on low and slow, with no nozzle... from a distance 👌

He can be very vocal and sometimes even sounds like a loud crying Baby 🍼...However, I can assure you all - Waffle is absolutely fine and is just letting everyone know he's at the salon for his groom!!

This week I met adorable little Border Terrier Pup 'Mila' who absolutely aced her first ever salon visit and was a diamond for her - a lovely well behaved pup who took everything in her stride 😍 looking forward to seeing you next time Mila 😘

For those unfamiliar with Handstripping, here is s little overview "𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗛𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗴?"
Hand Stripping is a specialist grooming method traditionally used on wire or silky coated breeds such as Terriers and Spaniels. A skilled technique, which, by hand or using hand stripping tools removes excess dead topcoat, without clipping, leaving room for the new coat to grow and giving a more natural look and preserving coat texture and colour.

𝙇𝙄𝙉𝙀 𝘽𝙍𝙐𝙎𝙃𝙄𝙉𝙂 groomers talk about this quite a lot and I have spoken with many of you over the years about keeping coats knot/matt free by regular coat maintenance using a slicker brush and greyhound comb - this is the only method you need to follow, ensuring you are brushing right to the base of the coat and all the way to the ends.

So, if you want to keep a fluffier/longer style; more frequent groom appointments, paired with thorough line brushing at home is key [ I hope the attached video demo helps] 🐾

Sad news - Ted's Mum has messaged me to let me know Ted's made his final journey over Rainbow Bridge 🌈 🐾💔 Ted had been poorly for a few months and although I'd not seen him, Ted's Mum kept in touch to let me know how he was.... Ted - little Trudie will be waiting to play with you at the gates sweet boy... Run free 😪 My condolences to Ted's Mum and family at this sad time and thank you for entrusting me with looking after Ted for his pampers over the years. He will be missed 😢 Rachael ###

🐾Paws up🐾 - who's woken up to the white stuff? (and I don't mean an exploding dog bed/sofa cushion/plush toy) I mean SNOW!!!❄️🌨️

Don't fur-get when the gritters have been out and footpaths have been salted, you should rinse your dog’s paws with warm water when you get home, as the salt can cause skin irritation. (you might want to use a soothing paw & nose balm) 🐾😘

Also, please give ample time to defrost your car (if you drive to me) and for your journey to/from the salon as inclement weather can cause traffic disruptions and slippy walkways can be hazardous.

Pretty little 16wk old 'Bourbon' came to me for her first salon visit - a.d.o.r.a.b.l.e 😍 as you'd expect she was a typical wriggly puppy, wanting to explore and taste everything, which is why we take it at pups pace to get them used to what's needed from them, working our way towards a full groom when she's ready. Bourbon is scheduled to see me again in 2 weeks for her 2nd groom training session 💕 see you soon, Rachael x
