She has multi joint arthritis and weakness in her back legs but regular swimming sessions are helping to keep her mobile and improve her strength. This is Alfie a very busy, energetic and lovable Working Cocker Spaniel. He had surgery for a cruciate ligament rupture. After making good progress in the under water treadmill Alfie recently graduated to the big pool. Here’s loveable Cockerpoo Ruby who has had multiple surgeries on one of her hind legs. She has progressed really well and here she is in the pool where we are working on building up her muscles. Increasing her muscle mass will help to provide better support to her joints and surrounding tissues. Bertie turned 11 this week (Happy Birthday Bertie! 🥳) In recent months Bertie started to get a little stiff on his back legs so his owner and vet prescribed hydrotherapy sessions to help improve his strength and mobility. This is gorgeous Choccy Lab Flake. 🥰 Flake had surgery to repair a torn cruciate ligament and here she is having a session in the treadmill. The sessions have helped Flake to recover from the op by building muscle on the affected leg. Milli the GSD has been coming to Bluestone for some time now. Milli had some complications after total hip replacement surgery and had to have part of her femur removed (a femoral head ostectomy) she therefore has no hip joint at all on one side of her body. She has recovered well though and regular hydrotherapy is helping to keep her hind legs strong.
