Beautiful boy Saxon has quite significant arthritis in his elbows. He swims regularly in our large, warm pool to help alleviate the symptoms of the condition. He is able to stretch out his stiff muscles and extend his limbs in a way he’s unable to on land. His owners report how much more fluid he moves after a swim and they love to see him happy and enjoy himself when he’s in the water. It makes us rather happy too 😊 💙

7 month old Buddy had his first ever swim today. He was very well behaved, a little on the splashy side 💦 but super brave and a great little swimmer. Well done Buddy! 👍😁

Meet sweet faced Springer Spaniel Millie. Millie has arthritis which unfortunately causes pain, stiffness and reduced mobility. Millie is on medication to help ease her arthritic pain and regular hydrotherapy helps to reduce her stiffness. Muscle fibres can become contracted and shortened when restricted by arthritis and swimming can help to stretch them resulting in more fluid movement and improved comfort.

Charlie the Schnauzer had a TPLO surgery on his knee recently to repair a ruptured cruciate ligament. He has been having sessions with us in the Under Water Treadmill to improve his gait and build his muscle back after the op. Despite not liking water all that much he loves his treatments, and runs in to see us with an enthusiastic wag of the tail. After just 4 sessions he’s already making great progress!

Here’s gorgeous choccie lab Bonnie in the treadmill. Being a typical Labrador Bonnie loves food and we use primula cheese on a lick mat to keep her motivated. Bonnie started sessions with us for a hind limb lameness which has much improved so she now comes for monthly maintenance sessions to keep her strong (and to get her fix of squeezey cheese! 🧀🧀🧀) #

It’s tiny tongue out Tuesday! This is miniature Dachshund Maisie who is in recovery from spinal surgery. Maisie has IVDD which is unfortunately all too common in the breed. Recovery from IVDD can be a long and gradual process and little Maisie is making steady progress. The under water treadmill isn’t her favourite place to be, but she bravely gets on with her therapy which is helping to make her stronger. Keep going Maisie! 💪

This absolute stunner is Doug the Frenchie. Sadly Doug had to have major spinal surgery for IVDD and has had quite a roller coaster of a recovery journey over recent months. He has progressed from complete paralysis of his hind limbs to walking again. He’s such a trooper though and tries really hard in every session. His back legs are getting stronger now and his owners are super dedicated to rehabilitate Doug who has regular physio (tailstherapy with Claire) and laser and acupuncture (vets4petsuk with Iris) which all help in different ways to get him mobile again. Keep on going Doug - you’ve already come so far!

Gorgeous Border Terrier Oscar has been having sessions to improve his strength following IVDD surgery. Spinal surgery can leave the patient with weaknesses and neurological deficits in their limbs. The underwater treadmill helps to build muscle and improve proprioceptive responses. Oscar is on the road to recovery and we love how happy he is when he comes in for his sessions (and his ham of course!)

Toby the yellow Lab had a lovely swim this morning.

Toby is a young boy who sadly has Elbow Dysplasia but his condition is being well managed by his dedicated owners who limit his exercise and keep him lean.

He has regular swims to help keep his muscles strong and supple. What a happy chap! 😁🥰

This picture of loveliness is English Bulldog Roxi. Roxi injured her cruciate ligament and has been having regular treatment in the treadmill to help her recovery. She’s doing really well and loves her weekly sessions. She’s a fun loving, cheeky girl who enjoys fuss and we always look forward to seeing her 🥰 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🐂🐶

Gorgeous boy Reggie had his last session with us today and we’re thrilled about it because it means he’s made a full recovery! Reggie had a soft tissue injury which caused him some lameness on one of his front legs. He is back to a full range of movement and is enjoying normal exercise again which he’s super happy about. Reggie is a nervous boy and has done so well in overcoming his fears of new places to have treatment with us in the under water treadmill. Well done Reggie!! 🥰

Ella has arthritis so swims regularly to help with her symptoms. Swimming in the warm pool helps to ease her stiffness and enables her to stretch her muscles in a comfortable non-weight bearing way. She absolutely loves her sessions and her smile says it all 🥰

This is loveable drool machine George the St Bernard. George has regular sessions to manage his bi lateral hip dysplasia. He doesn’t like to be the only one to get wet though so he drools and shakes through his sessions so we can all share in the experience! 🤤🤤

Lovely Cockerpoo Raffy has mild Hip Dysplasia and comes for regular sessions to keep his hind limb muscles strong. He also likes a spot of crab fishing…he caught a big one today! 🦀🦀🦀

Gorgeous Frenchie Violet has been having treatment in the Under Water Treadmill for a hip injury. She is doing well and the good news is that she is no longer lame . Her sessions are helping to strengthen her hindlimb muscles and retrain her gait 👍Here she is perfecting her ‘how to look cute’ pose during one of her rest breaks 🥰
