In response to the increased avian influenza risk, an Prevention Zone will be introduced across England and Scotland as of noon 25 January 2025.

This means that, from this time, it will be a legal requirement for all bird keepers in England and Scotland to follow strict biosecurity measures to protect their birds in addition to following any Protection/Surveillance Zone restrictions that apply.

We are finding round worms (Ascaridia spp) in the intestines of most partridges submitted for post mortem in the last ten days. The weather has definitely played a role but having a worming regime for partridges is as important as for pheasants.

Coccidiosis in 3 week old pheasants. Since last week we started to see more cases of coccidiosis in both pheasants and partridges, with some being only 2 weeks old.
