Well he did it! Simon Prout completed his ride up the gallops this morning on Frank, looking magnificent in his purple suit and sporting a hat silk in his own racing colours! Simon has raised over £13,000 for charity! A very big thank you to everyone that turned out this morning to support him, he was overwhelmed with how many there were! 🐴🥳👏

SHELDON in the paddock at Leicester Racecourse .

I will start with ‘I trust you all had a great Christmas with family and friends’.
We have 1 runner today at Leicester Racecourse where Zoe will be leading up.
In the 3.10pm, we run SHELDON for owner Mrs Deborah Potter and Micheál Nolan rides.
SHELDON runs reasonably well when fresh, being placed mostly.
With conditions favourable, he must have a decent each way chance.
Not an easy race to weigh up though with many in with chances - I actually like GOLDEN WHISKEY at the prices, he is lightly raced but sits 17lbs below his last winning mark. If he’s fit and up for it then 16/1 is way too big of a price.
Best of luck to connections and what is most important to us is that both horse and jockey come back safe and sound…… Brett

Not long until Simon's charity ride up the Wilsford Gallops on Frank! Training has been going well! Feel free to come along and support Simon on Sunday 29 December, all welcome. We will meet at the yard at 10.30am ready for the main event at 11am! Mulled wine, mince pies and much merriment guaranteed! (Video filmed yesterday!). 😊

WEST HILL VERDE at Ascot this afternoon. He was also judged Best Turned Out, so well done Jo Moody ! 🙌

Just 1 runner for us today at Ascot Racecourse where Jo Moody will be leading up.
In the 3.40pm we run WEST HILL VERDE for owner Mrs Kate Kenyon with Dan Sansom riding.
WEST HILL VERDE ran a good race on his first run and might surprise a few today. I’m not saying he will win as this is a hot race. I expect him to out run his opening odds of 66/1 (i’m not alone as i see he is around 25/1 now).
I wouldn’t want to suggest a winner but i’m keen to see how we get on against some clearly decent horses.

2 runners today for us at Exeter Racecourse where Zoe Catherine Louise will be leading up and at Southwell Racecourse where Dan Sansom will be leading up.
First up in the 1.10pm we run SGIAN DUBH for owner Charles Wilson and George Downing in the saddle.
SGIAN DUBH came back from and absence last time out and will know a lot more about it today. He looks to have a bit of scope over this distance having run well over 1m4f at Salisbury in June 2023. ARC ZOOSVE looks a worthy favourite.
Finally in the 3.40pm we run KENTFORD MALLARD for owner Mr D I Bare with Simon Elliott riding.
Simon is back in the saddle after a while now and we wish him all the best. KENTFORD MALLARD is capable at this level and the extra distance could well be in her favour. She wouldn't want it too soft though. I think she has a great each way chance at big odds with most bookmakers going 5 places.
It’s a wide open race to be fair and the winner could come from anywhere.

Just the 1 runner for us today at Newbury Racecourse where Jo Savill will be leading up.
It’s the 1.50pm where we run ROXHILL for owner S Smode and Dan Sansom riding.
ROXHILL has only had a couple of runs for us and it remains to be seen what his capabilities are. A race in which i shall be just watching.
There are potentially some half decent horses in this race and with not a lot of firm to go on - best left alone!

2 runners for us today at Wincanton Racecourse where Zoe Catherine Louise will be leading up.
First up in the 12.45pm we run EPOLOGREG for owners The Seamus Mullins Racing Club with Oscar Palmer in the saddle.
EPOLOGREG has yet to show us a bit of form over this sort of distance so is best watched today. It’s an open race with many that could win this on a good day!
Finally in the 3.45pm we run MAIRIS ICON for owner F G Matthews and Micheál Nolan riding.
MAIRIS ICON has a good each way chance today in this race. She has form at Wincanton too. IMPERIAL JADE should be up there in the finish, JAMINSKA was running a decent race last time until the saddle slipped and AN CAILIN CLUIN looks worthy of a second look too.
