Life Skills classes are back for the Summer! These classes are great for puppies, rescue dogs or simply any age dog or handler that is looking to learn some new skills and have some fun. There is a pay as you go option so you can select the sessions you most need help with and you don't need to commit to a course if you work shifts or have a holiday planned. Week 1 is a game changer so if nothing else I highly recommend this session!

Fun Gundog Level 2. This is Charlie who wasn’t really that bothered about retrieving and would spend more time sniffing about in the grass than collecting dummies. He would sometimes pick up a rabbit dummy if he felt like it but quickly turned his attention back to sniffing.

However…. Something has clicked with this little dog and he has been on fire the last couple of weeks. Today he picked up a flying duck, a puppy disc, a water dummy and at one point was like lightening and picked up one of Hatties dummies before anyone even noticed he had left his spot!

Apart from a dummy swap in this run, his drive and determination is 1000% better and his delivery is very nearly there. Well done Jan! You’ve done wonders with him and it’s soooo lovely to see him excel and love his training 👏

Fun Gundog Level 3. This was one of the exercises we did today, everyone stood in a circle and threw a dummy into the middle then sent their dog in to retrieve it. Everyone got the correct dummy and the correct dog back! So proud of you guys 🥰

I had a puppy home visit with little Petal this morning, a 9 week old cockapoo 🥰. This is her first time investigating a chicken foot which was just as entertaining for us as it was for her 😂

Working on stopping the dog at a distance today in Fun Gundog Level 1. They learned the stop whistle today so hoping to put it altogether next week 👌🏻

This is Finn in the Fun Gundog level 1 class. We’re on week 4 and he’s nailed the marked retrieve 💪🏻 well done for braving the rain today guys 🌧️

We started working on a send around in general obedience class this week. I thought I’d share my Mille demonstrating it around a stool this afternoon. We are also working on delivery of dummies so the reward for the send around was a little retrieve (my indoor dummy which is soft because I’m rubbish at throwing it!) and the reward for putting it in my hand was a hotdog.
