BEWARE - In the last 10 days we have had TWO dogs bitten by adders, one in Langdale area and the second in the Ambleside area. Please be extra vigilant when walking through long grass, bracken and woodland, where it is advisable to keep your dog on a lead.

If your dog should be bitten by an adder you should do the following:
1) Call us immediately. We will arrange to meet you at the Windermere practice where we can use anti venom to treat your dog.
2) If possible, carry your dog back to the car. This will help reduce the venom spreading around the body.
3) Cold water bathing the bite wound can be effective in reducing swelling.

Please share to make ALL dogs owners aware.

And if you don't have a furry friend, not to worry! There will still be plenty of activities to get involved with, food and drink stalls, and a variety of vintage, artisan, arts and crafts and other handmade products from Salisbury's amazing local makers.
