There is a SCREAM inside, that I sometimes let out, a scream of pain, anger, desperation, despair, anguish, helplessness, hopelessness. A SCREAM of loss. For five long, agonising months, I have held this SCREAM and Iโm not sure I can live with it for much longer. I am so scared for Margie & Ruby; I am so broken for us. We NEED our girls home. ๐ป๐น๐๐

Another huge thank you to Chris Matthews for the article he wrote on Cornwall Live and Plymouth Live, published last Sunday. We thought it had thrown up a lead as someone commented that they had seen a homeless couple at Devilโs Point on Saturday night with two dogs exactly the same and a lurcher type dog. I have replied to the commenter, but have not received a response from him/her. We rushed down there on Sunday night, but could see no one with any dogs there. Giles went back on Monday morning and spoke to lots of people there, but no one had seen anyone fitting the description. He then wandered hopefully around Plymouth for a few hours. Meanwhile, I rang PATH and spoke to Emily, an outreach worker in the homeless community. She told me that sheโs not aware of any homeless people with dogs in Plymouth at the moment, but that she would put the word out and keep an eye out for me. I also contacted the police in Stonehouse and their officers on the beat are keeping an eye out in the area.

Thank you to ITV Westcountry for running Margie & Rubyโs story yesterday on all four news slots over the course of the day. It was comforting and heart breaking to see them running around the farm, so full of life and joy and fun and naughtiness. Iโm really hoping that it will help to spread the word. There is a write up on their website: https://www.itv.com/news/westcountry/2021-08-10/woman-from-saltash-utterly-devastated-after-suspected-theft-of-her-dogs

Just seen this from Sky News and it's made me cry, for Natalie, for us and for all of the people in our situation. So hoping that the Pet Abduction Offence is brought in and swiftly. What fantastic work Debbie Matthews is doing with the https://www.stolenandmissingpetsalliance.co.uk/. Our two are our therapy, if not official therapy dogs, and we miss them more than words can say.

Today is our 20th wedding anniversary. I thought that we would be doing something special, the four of us, to celebrate the happiest day of my life (canโt speak for Giles!). Instead, neither Giles nor I have even remembered, let alone bought each other a card. I just noticed the date this morning and realised. Please, please let the ITV Westcountry item on tonightโs news at 6pm on ITV bring good news that makes the 11th August doubly the happiest day of our lives.

A huge thank you to ITV Westcountry, who are running a story for us on Wednesday 11th August at 6pm on ITV. Thank you so much to Penny for taking the time to come down and talk to us. Angela xx

A huge thank you to https://www.doglost.co.uk/ for including Margie & Ruby in Countrymanโs Weekly this week, along with some of the other poor souls who are also missing. I hope that it throws up some leads for some of us at least. Interestingly, in the same issue, there is an article using Kennel Club statistics, stating that nearly 200 dogs are stolen every month in the UK. This is a staggering statistic.

Our two Norfolk terriers, Margie and Ruby, have been missing from our farm between Landrake and Pillaton in SE Cornwall, PL12, since 9am on Thurs 24th June 2021. They were wearing GPS trackers at the time of their disappearance, so we know exactly what time their signals were lost and have a rough final location, in woodland not far from our house. The signal is only lost if they are underground or the trackers are turned off. We initially thought that they had gone down a rabbit hole. However, we have searched the target area extensively and found no sign of them, including:
A trained search dog;
Working springers, who know the area well;
Working terriers; In all 5 separate teams of working dogs with people who are experienced at locating terriers in holes, as well as the search dog;
Mowed the entire area to remove undergrowth;
A mini digger;
An 8 tonne digger for the larger warrens;
A camera and low frequency microphone on chimney rods;
A thermal imaging camera;
Teams of people systematically searching for holes;
Contacted tracker company, who have confirmed that the trackers did not leave the virtual fence (set around our house), given us a degree of accuracy on their final locations and tried to reboot the trackers for us;
Barbeques lit in the area, cooking sausages and chicken;
Dirty washing left;
Urinated in the area;
A metal detector;
Sat in the area and listened quietly in the evenings;
Called, blown their whistle and squeaked their favourite toys at dawn, dusk and all times inbetween;
Wildlife camera recording and showed no sign of any hole-dwelling animals - 4 squirrels, 1 bat, 2 field mice and a cat in 3 weeks;
Posters put up in local villages;
Pet dogs walked in the area; and
Systematically walked the area with phones in case the Bluetooth on their trackers picked them up before the tracker batteries died (this is the โfindโ function and locates hiding dogs that canโt been seen).
There is not a hole in this area that has not been dug out or that was in use by its original occupant.
The only other explanation we can think of is that they were stolen and the thief turned the trackers off. Their disappearance has been reported to the police, dog warden, local vets, rescue centres and they are on the DogLost website (ID 167709).
They are both spayed and microchipped and both 2 years old.
Please, please share and look out for them. We are utterly devastated by their loss and just want our family back together.
Thank you.
Angela xx

It has been suggested to me that I should include the area that Margie & Ruby were lost in more clearly on this page, so I thought it might be a good idea to precis what's happened in the last 42 days and pin this to the top of the page. I'll try to be concise! A huge thank you to everyone who has shared and left such kind comments and pointed out found dogs that could be them. I really appreciate all your support. Angela xx
