I've been very quiet on here lately, haven't I? Sorry! There has been a bit going on in the background! Mainly- I have started a law degree in my spare time! And it's rather more intense than the 16hrs a week I was expecting! But I am still here, and I am still grooming some beautiful spaniels!!

Today, I have done 5!! (3 of them were my own but I'm still counting them!)

First, the little stunner that is Bruce 😍 forgot to get photos this time but he is honestly so gorgeous, he reminds me a little of apache when he was very young (and anyone who knows me knows that is a pretty big deal!!)

Then onto Cisco 🤩 my first and only full show cocker (so far!). He gets stripped and a bit of a trim on the underside to keep him cool and tidy, and he is just so sweet 🥹 and look at his teddy toes!!!!!! 🧸

Then archer - an almost full buzz cut to stop every bit of woodland trying to make its way home with him after a walk 🙈 but i've been able to leave his ears and tail to keep him feeling like a spaniel. And a tidy up on the sides for apache and merlin.

Massive thanks to all my clients by the way, furry and less furry. Since starting this I have truly met the loveliest people, and it makes me so happy. I knew I'd love the dogs that I'd get to work with, but it's such a bonus to meet nice humans too! 💚🩵💚

Happy 11th birthday to the best thing that ever happened to me. The best decision I ever made. The best love I have ever known. My best friend. I don't know where the time goes! I never wish it along as I want to savour every second I get with you and the youths. Thankfully you don't act anything like an 11 year old dog!! I think the country and sea living helps. But if we could slow down the times that we get to spend making memories, I would. I want to make as many memories as possible, spend as much time as possible with you, and give you the best life possible. For a love that has done so much for me deserves the very best that life has to offer. I hope I make you as happy and fulfilled as you make me 💚

Of course, traditional Happy meals at the beach! With K-Dcakes gluten and dairy free, dog and human friendly peanut butter cake (and it is delicious!!!). And a posh breakfast at The Spa Hotel Saltburn.

Black Forest Gateau for Betsy & Bo Staithes. Cake is Dark Chocolate sponge with a splash of Cherry Brandy and dollops of Black Cherry jam. Piped with chocolate and vanilla buttercream and finished with Black Cherries 🍒

And I mean, check out these amazing black forest gateaux cupcakes from K-Dcakes!!!! And the unbelievably thoughtful keyring (the only one that could reach the bar of being assigned to my car keys!!) 🥹 such a beautiful lady inside and out!! I'm so lucky to call someone so nice a friend!

And yeah, my neighbours are waaaaay better than yours!! 😉 came home to a little treat at the back door, and a boozy treat at the front door 🥰 I love my home!

Mr swollen toe went back to the vet today for a bit of anaesthetic and an x-ray to get a better look at what's going on. Nothing seen on the x-ray so just being treated as a nail bed infection, with extra antibiotics and painkillers. The poor little love is high as a kite right now, but he is home and so can snooze and have all the cuddles he could need! 🥺💚❤️‍🩹

Staaaaahp!!!! Look how absolutely stunning Bruce is 😍🤩😍🤩😍 beautiful pale gold fur, and the blackest nose 😍

Bruce had a bit of a wild back end going on. Understandably his humans wanted to get rid, so had a quick go! However, they just needed a little help tidying him up and blending his fur into a style.

He is such a sweetheart. He is only a pup still really, so he was nervous to start! It's clear his human sisters must help him get or keep out of trouble as he kept looking to them but they reassured him, and he let me gently use my scissors. At the end he even gave me lots of beautiful kisses, much to my delight!!

Looking forward to watching this one grow, as he is honestly such a lovely, lovely boy. His humans must be as proud and chuffed as I am with my 3 nutters!!!

Oh my goodness 😍 how absolutely lovely, gorgeous and beautiful is Miss Bonnie!!! I aaaaalways love seeing her as she is just the happiest lil cutie! She had a quick tidy up yesterday in her owners fabulous garden, just to keep looking pawfect! And even King Bennie demanded a hair or two be trimmed so he could be entitled to some of the lactose free bribery cheese!

Incidentally, her owner is K-Dcakes, baker of the most incredible, elegant, and down right delicious cakes (and other goodies). She caters to gluten and lactose free, and makes an amazing dog and human peanut butter cake 🤤

Had the pleasure of grooming the Gripps Farm spaniels this week! 😍😍😍😍 what a pack of cuddle bugs!! So gentle and happy! I set to work in their barn, which honestly was brilliant. I may still be finding hay in crazy places, but it was amazing to be on The Farm! 🥰 if I have to work away from my own boys, what could possibly be better than cuddling spaniels on a proper farm?! 😁

I have tentatively decided to start doing mobile grooming for spaniels in the local area, just until I can afford to finish my grooming room. If this is something you'd like, please get in touch!

This is because of today. Today, I took my kit to see the absolutely amazing Jack. I don't expect many (if any) dogs to be completely perfectly behaved...but Jack! Wow. What an angel. He had a gentle hand strip, a couple of typical spaniel ear mats removed, and a pawdicure ready for grass seed season! The amount of fur removed was unbelievable!

Get in touch if you have a spaniel that you'd like grooming, ESPECIALLY if you're nervous about the process!! It's not all about clipping (although I'm happy to do that), and I'll always work with what you want and like wherever possible.

Once again, I'm beyond grateful for the amazing Saltburn Vets. After a lovely walk tonight, apache just wasn't right. Pale gums, looked bloated, wasn't moving right, intense shivering. I called and was in the car before I'd put the phone down. Thankfully its only a matter of minutes to the surgery, and once there, we were in with Dr Haddow within minutes. After some checks, fearing a twisted stomach, thankfully it turned out to not be quite so serious, but 100% still worth rushing him in. He had started to go hypothermic, and was slightly dehydrated. He had bloods taken and some other treatment, and an hour later, all fears over as the bloods came back fine, and the treatment clearly working, along with cuddles by the fire. I can't even imagine losing him. And wouldn't have wanted anyone else to reassure me other than Dr Haddow and the team at saltburn vets. The speed with which we were seen. The thorough checks and care. I'm so grateful. My boys are everything to me and they all started with Apache, my golden boy 💚 thank you so much saltburn vets!!!
