We would like to share some exciting news with our clients! 📣

Cate Titterton, who you may already have met, has acquired the practice. This allows the practice to continue providing a service for the community, and we are proud to remain independent!

James Haddow is still working with us as an invaluable part of our team and we are grateful for the support he is providing us.

We would like to also congratulate Tereena Haddow on her recent retirement. We wish her all the best for the future, and we cannot thank her enough for her compassion and determination that has helped to build the practice into what it is today. We are grateful to be given the opportunity to continue to operate supporting her values. 🐱🐶🐰

More team pets!

Asha and Ruby came in for some XRays this morning. They did amazingly whilst receiving their anaesthetic and are recovering brilliantly, even if they are enjoying a little sing song together now they're awake 😬🫢

Weasley has to work hard to keep his job on reception before these two muscle in!!

He was a very brave boy from beginning to end and had all of the staff swooning over his good looks and gentlemanly behaviour! ❤️⭐️

As a follow-on from our earlier post this morning... here's when things go wrong :(
A dog gets out and goes for a wander 🐾🐾 a lovely caring couple brought him in for scanning 🐾🐾 he has a chip 😁 Yay! Even better, its on our system 👏 We contacted the person on our file 📞 they answer but are on holiday 🏖 😳 and they are no longer the current owners of this dog :( . It was going to be difficult for them to contact his new owners while away. We ☎️ other local Vet practices but no luck there 😥 . Had a further discussion with the finders 👫 who were waiting patiently. They said they had instantly bonded with this gorgeous pooch ❤️ but understood that he wasn't theirs to keep. Maxis Mates 🐶 were next on the list. They are a God-send in situations like this. Embarrassingly, the next step was to FB Stalk the name given to us and message them📩🙈 Thankfully a call came back almost immediately asking if was ok and arrangements were made to meet up at Maxis. This is a frightening example of how easily a dog can disappear 😱 Luckily for this lovely lad, he is well-loved and this was a freak chance
and he took it! A timely reminder to always ask for a chip check when you visit your Vet, keep all your
personal details up to date and make sure you know which database your pet is registered on. As mentioned previously, he could have been home within minutes after being scanned if it was all current. Now, time for 🫖 🐾🐾
All's well that ends well 😊 (except he will now be losing his Pompoms) 😉

This little lady decided it was time to let herself out and explore. She was brought into us for scanning. Auntie Carol searched for a chip on the system and there it was 😁 and reunited with her owner within minutes ❤️

We hope everyone is taking full advantage of this glorious weather? 🌞 Unfortunately, every year, Vets see distressing cases of heat exhaustion 😭 please don't let your dog become a sad statistic. A lovely 22c outside can become a sweltering 47c inside a car 🚗 within an hour. If you can't have them with you, it's safer to leave them at home. Bear in mind that greenhouses, Motorhomes and Conservatories can also become furnaces 🔥(ours reached 100c yesterday)! The same applies to Cats, small furries and any caged pets. It's also advisable to check on any livestock and Horses as more water will be required. Whichever way we look at it, none of us have had time to acclimatise to a sudden rise in temperature, so be prepared and be safe. Enjoy 😀 🏖🌊

We have had a beautiful ginger long-haired un-neutered male cat brought in for scanning. Sadly no chip 😢 he was found on a roof in the Lune Street area of Saltburn. He's very quiet and doesn't mind being handled. If anyone knows of one missing or can give him a home, please get in touch.

Cats may know something you don't ....by 10th June this year all "owned cats" will need to have been microchipped. Their Humans will have up to 21 days after this to make arrangements for their cats to have this done 😻

The true cost of running a Veterinary Practice.... We encourage open and honest dialogue around the cost of treatment. Whilst the maths might not be entirely accurate, as each Practice is different, this is a fairly comprehensive overview. It needs to be a trusted working partnership between Vets and pet Owners to achieve the best outcome for their pets wellbeing 💚

This is Ziggy. Ziggy was loved and had a very good home. He was logged as missing in Oct 2022. He was brought into us a few days ago, a quick scan revealed he was chipped and he had been missing for 17 Months! He is now back with his original owners who are over the moon with his return! I.D. chips don't solve every problem but it's heartwarming when reunions happen. We need to have more discussion around "acquired cat ownership". If yourself, or a friend or relative happen to take an apparent stray in, please get him or her scanned first. It could save Lot of heartache 💔

A member of our Staff retrieved a deceased cat 🌈 this morning. 😭 He's a black & White large un-neutered male, no chip. He was found by the road side between the end of Coach
Road Brotton and Pepper Dogs. Please share or get in touch if you know who he might belong to. Thank you 🐾🐾

We're usually quick off the mark to share good news, however, we've been so busy that we've forgotten to introduce our new team member as it feels as if she's been here ages already 😳 We're very happy to introduce our additional Vet 👩‍⚕️ Cate Titterton. Cate is highly qualified and is a very experienced surgeon who enjoys all aspects of soft tissue surgery. Quite a few of you will have met Cate already, but if you haven't, you may see her next time you visit. We're also looking forward to Simona returning from her Maternity Leave 🤱 in May so we will have a full house 😁
