Since August 2002 I have been walking and caring for dogs and cats. I also look after fish, parrots, rabbits, reptiles, horses and ponies. Unlike many other Pet Minding and Dog Walking services I do not offer ‘Group Walks’ for dogs. Most of my clients prefer their dogs to have one-on-one care and personal attention so I only walk one client’s dogs at a time. However, there has been the odd occasio

n when a couple of my clients, whose dogs get along together, have wanted a combined walk, which is absolutely fine. With over 12 years hands-on experience Nigel’s VIPs! is able to offer comprehensive, personalised services tailored to meet your particular needs and requirements. All the services I provide are private and confidential. I have long standing clients who use my Residential Pet Care & Home Sitting Services. I offer a complete package, working closely with my clients to ensure complete peace of mind whilst they are away. Due to personal circumstances, Kennels and Catteries are not always an option for pet owners. A client’s pet may be unwell, elderly, doesn’t mix well with other dogs or cats, or it may be of a nervous disposition. Which is why my Residential Pet-Sitting Services has proven to be so popular over the years! Waiting in line to pay for groceries while maintaining a 6ft distance, this man cut in line. He didn't appear to notice what he’d done.

The person he bypassed didn't utter a word, simply maintained the appropriate distance.

When it came time for the man to settle the bill, he reached into his back pocket and retrieved a small notepad. He had forgotten his wallet.
He looked a bit disappointed and embarrassed. The person he skipped stepped up and told the cashier they’d take care of his groceries. (Which only consisted of Milk and Chocolate Chip Cookies.)

He was more than grateful. He kindly thanked them and off the man went.

Upon arrival to the register, the cashier asked: "He cut you off and you paid for his groceries. Why??"

"They calmly replied with a smile: “I hope that if one day my dad forgets his wallet, someone will step up and buy his Milk and Cookies."

With all the negativity going on in the world. I thought it would be nice to share this moment.

A little kindness goes a long way. Why not pay it forward?

Dog Poisoned by the Diffuser
Saturday night I got home late and my dog didn't recognize me. Being a nanny I thought I woke him up and he was having a night terror. Sunday, he was still acting weird. I realized that I had been running my new diffuser and decided to turn it off. Sunday afternoon, he was feeling better.
Today at work, my dog sitter said that he wouldn't come out from under the bed. It was very odd as he is a happy dog.
I came from work early and again, he was very confused about who I was.
So I took him to emergency vet.
It turns out that the tea tree oil I was using in the diffuser is toxic for dogs. Thankfully the test showed that his liver was ok but we weren't out of the woods yet. He was given fluids under his skin to get the toxins out.
The vet and the poison control are saying that they see these cases often now that the popularity of essential oil is growing.
Please make sure that the essential oils you are burning are not toxic for your pets.

As most of you who know me will have heard I'm moving home (end of July'24). Moving to just a couple of miles outside of Saltburn to Yearby Bank. I've found myself a somewhere I think is quite special; it's a 2-bed cottage with fabulous views of the surrounding countryside including a reservior.
I'm going to be getting started with my packing quite soon and it occurred to me I really should find all my packing boxes... then I remembered I'd given them away a while back! So, I'm now on the hunt for some good, strong cardboard boxes - not too big though. If anyone has any they no longer need, please drop me a line, text or a call. Many thanks!
