Handsome Dougal came in for a groom. Being an XL breed and almost 10 years old we noticed he was having difficulty standing for the whole groom lately. We suggested he missed out the bathing and drying as he hates loud noises too and instead used a foam shampoo.

Is it a perfect groom ? No.....but it's perfect for Dougal and that's what matters 🥰 Plus it left him extra time to do what he loves best....playing with a ball 😊🤗

Remember, a dog has never died from skipping a walk, but dogs have died from heat stroke.

Remember, if it’s too hot for your hands or your bare feet, then it’s too hot for their paw pads! ⚠️

If you’re unsure whether it’s okay to let your pet go for a walk on pavements, a simple way to test the temperature is by holding your bare skin on the tarmac for five seconds ⏱️

If you find it painful, then your pet will find it painful to walk on!

To protect your pet, it’s best to avoid walks during the hottest part of the day, which is usually between 8am and 6pm. If you can't safely exercise your dog, missing a day won't hurt.

Can you guess which one got it first 🤣

Scratchboards....could do with a non slip surface ....... maybe anti slip material you get for rugs.

Scratch boards....A great way for your dogs to wear down their own front claws. There are different types. My dogs are food oriented so I got the ones with a slide hatch and put chicken in. After a few tries they got the hang of it. 🛑Important....Your dog can easily wear their nails right to the quick in a few minutes if they have a lot of strength like my staffie cross resulting in a bleeding quick. This stopped quickly and he didn't mind but just be observant and limit use over first few days or to once a week.

Trained to City & Guilds Level 3 standard we are open Monday to Saturday & Sundays by request. Services include our Express Self Service bath, Service bath / Blow dry & Full Grooming service. We also offer Nagayu CO2 skin treatment.

Grooming is carried out between Hazel & Georgia Monday to Saturday (Sunday by request) & by Jill Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday (Sunday by request)
